Training Guide: Part XI - Water Combat Team - Heavy Weapons Officer

PROFILE - HEAVY WEAPONS OFFICER
Heavy Weapons Officers (HWOs) are the heavily armed "grunts" who specialize in using the hard hitting weaponry. With their weaponry. As such, they have an incredible drenching capability, but they also need defending since their weaponry tends to be bulky and slow their movement. Few individuals truly understand how to use heavy weaponry properly, but it is those individuals who really can show you the true power behind weapons like the CPS 2000, or CPS 3000.

HWOs follow orders from the leader but should also be able to make situation-specific decisions if something comes up. HWOs should also be relatively strong, able to use their big weaponry with the same dexterity as "grunts" use mid-sized weaponry. For a group to do well, there should really only be one or two HWOs supported by "grunts".

TIPS

  • should be well-armed and able to use their choice of weapon effectively
  • must be familiar with various weapons, recognizing weapon's weaknesses and strengths
  • should carry a ridiculously large amount of water. The more, the merrier
  • must always work for the good of the team

SUGGESTED WEAPONRY
A good heavy or extra heavy weapon would be recommended along with a good back-up weapon. Water balloons also recommended as a last resort weapon.

SUGGESTED NON-STANDARD EQUIPMENT

  • walkie-talkies if available
  • filled 500mL, 1L, or 2L bottles for refilling on the field (amount of water carried depends on the person and their strength)
  • filled water balloons
  • a good, waterproof shield for combat situations
