Training Guide: Part X - Water Combat Team - "Grunt"

PROFILE - "GRUNT": "Grunts" are the backbone of the water combat team. "Grunts" are the one's who typically go in and directly engage the enemy. As such, "grunts" need to be well armed and well trained in using their weaponry.

"Grunts" follow orders from the leader but should also be able to make situation-specific decisions if something comes up. "Grunts" should also be relatively agile and quick, able to evade enemy fire. The majority of any water combat team is made up of "grunts".

TIPS:

  • should be well-armed and able to use their choice of weapon effectively
  • must be familiar with various weapons, recognizing weapon's weaknesses and strengths
  • should be relatively quick and agile, able to evade enemy fire or get behind cover during a fire-fight
  • must always work for the good of the team

SUGGESTED WEAPONRY: Can use any weapon type, but "grunt"'s role is attack. A good medium-to-large-sized weapon would be recommended along with a good back-up weapon. Water balloons also recommended as a last resort weapon.

SUGGESTED NON-STANDARD EQUIPMENT:

  • walkie-talkies if available
  • filled 500mL, 1L, or 2L bottles for refilling on the field (amount of water carried depends on the person and their strength)
  • filled water balloons
  • a good, waterproof shield for combat situations
