In 2002, due to demands of certain retailers, the Monster X (as well as the XL) were shortened up to fit better on shelves. However, it is still undeniably the Monster X. While I think they could have picked a better colour than Orange, it still looks pretty damn cool! It now measures in at 34" and features stubby nozzles.

Smaller than its big Brother, Monster XL, this gun has been considered by some as a better alternative to the XL for common ground warfare, as well as cost effectiveness. While the Monster XL is an excellent cannon for intimidation as well as sheer soakage, Monster X is a well rounded Heavy Cannon perfect for any waterfight. And to further seperate it from the Monster XL, you can move with it as well! (maybe even run)

This gun, in Size, Capacity and performance is most similar to the CPS 2500... About the Same length (2000-01 Monster X at 36" to 2500's 34"), and about equal pumps for a full charge, this gun gives you the option of plenty of Nozzles, but the only one you won't find anything similar to on this gun is the 2500's 20x, nor does the actual waterpower match its 2500 brethren.

The gun might be very long, and a bit wide, but thats not a bad thing as long as you're not involved in a Close-Range Combat mission, running through Trees and Bushes, or absolutely outnumbered by People with Smaller CPSs than the Monster X. The advantages of the Monster X are the very high Intimidation Factor of this weapon, as well as the length makes the gun simple to aim and relatively Accurate.
That, and a CPS Grade weapon with the SuperCharging ability is what alot of us have been waiting for...
