Not very often does a new section come to the Nexus, and as promised on the 3/14/2000 Submission to the Newswire, a New Section has come to the Aqua-Nexus.

The "Tech Center" can be found on the Information Station. It features information sectors devoted to the Mechanics of Aquatica Technology, including 4 Sections of Information, The Repair Center, Modifications, Mechanics and Painting Tips. So far, only the Mechanics page (A destcripions page about different Soaker technologies) is active, but hopefully soon the rest will be up.

Not too much for News, but the Face of Aquatechnology has changed a little... That is to say, the Main page has been modified. Now you only need go as far as loading the First page to see what's new. The old What's new page has been changed to "Info" which is mostly information about the site. Also added is a Repair Guide, which can be found on

That's the news for today.

Hoppy Easter!
Now with these candy, err, dandy greetings aside, onto what's new in the Soaker World...

SuperSoaker.Com has unfurled the first Contest of the Season. Go to the Reservoir and Click on the Contest image and fill out the form. This Month's Prize? A Brand Spanking New CPS2700!! (Only Ages 14yrs or older may enter) Go there for more details...

Aquatechnology hasn't been Quiet over the last few days, it has added and rearranged a few things here and there... The rearrangement includes modifications done to the "What's New" Section, adding details on Submitting reviews, stories, whatever to the site. Other updates include the Addition of a SuperCharger Usage guide to the Tips/Tactics section, and editing of Flash Files across the site. Go There For More...

Things at the Nexus haven't been Quiet either. Along with a redesigned Flash Logo, and a eye-candied up menu bar, The Nexus has added it's 13th War Story to the War Stories section (on the Information Station.). Perhaps this is the year The Nexus will have More War Stories than Water Weapons of Mass Destruction!

And Finally, Water War has closed off POW#13 with a Solved POW and all remaining submissions for the POW, Including one Fashioned by the Nexus' Own Super Soaker Warrior... All I can really say about his "Solved" Solution is that it is more flawed than the Solution SSW posted for POW#13. It can be easily assumed that he puts down other people submissions, no matter how effective or worthy they are, for one reason and one reason only, He never intended to let anyone win. Notice how nobody has ever Successfully solved any of his POWs? It has become clear that what we first gathered from Tactician's E-Mail last August Blasting the Nexus that Tacky is just a poor lost soul that thinks he's better than everyone else... I guess we really should have noticed that he's a lost soul by simply reading his "World War" Like depiction's of Super Soaker battles... I just don't see so many people fighting so many battles, thinking that the Meaning of Life and Death is REAL. Especially with his weapons Choices. Who in their right mind takes an XP70 into a battle that big Involving CPSs? It's good to be Crazy, but Man...  And Notice how a good deal of his battles use varying numbers of Classic 25 Sidearms? I wouldn't be caught Dead with one. (A Friend of mine used to have one, I know what they're like.)
And the Final Clue that Tactician is a Lost Soul wishing for older days is by simply looking at his page, who bases a page completely on a POW Lineup hardly anybody posts to? At least when His Super Soaker RPG and Links sections were up there, there was a reason to visit. Now, all you get is an Annoying Midi, and POWs that no one could ever solve.
Go to his page and tell him what you think...

That's the News at this Hour... Tune in at 11pm for more... (Or not...)

Well..  things change all the time...
Maybe I should ask "Notice anything different?". Kinda obvious eh?.
For the last few days offline I have been reworking the the frameset of the Nexus, seeing if there was any better way to deal with the crowded frames problem(ie: unbearably small frames in some areas, even under high resolutions). I ended up reverting back to a design that is very similar to what was in use for the Aqua-Nexus from the very begining in April 1999, to the Major update of November 1999.
(For those of you who don't know what the Old Nexus looked like, Go Here).

So todays news on Nexus Updates is: Face Lift.
Also, Super Soaker Fanatic "Fabrizio-X" has submitted a Commentary on the Virtues of the XP90...  Don't laugh, go see what he says.

And without further delay, here's the News From Around the Soaker World.

Aquatechnology added a review to the much feared Monster XL (Lucky $@^%# got one...). Aquatechnology has also added an article on "Water Properties" to the Tips and Tactics section. (Under Weaponry tips.)

Water Weapon Revolution is also in the news, a few days ago it added a basic review of the Monster (not the XL) until one can be obtained for review.

Also, it has become quite apparent that Traffic is back up around the Super Soaker Sites Online, it is quickly becoming apparent that, yes, The Season is back in motion.  As such, I cannot help but wonder which sites will come back online.
A few sites have been Moderately to Highly active over the course of the Off-Season and are as follows... (As well as their last update dates)
Aqua-Nexus (of course)
Aquatechnology (Updated April 18th)
Mikah's SS Page (Updated March 31st)
MiB (Updated February 8th)
Water War (Updated April 15th)
Liquid Warfare (Updated March 15th)
HydroPhiles (Updated - unknown date)
And two new sites which have popped up recently...
Water Weapon Revolution (Updated April 17th)
The Omega Aquilae Workshop (Erected April 15th)
These sites are the only ones, of dozens of sites out there, that are currently active sites. Which leaves the rest of the World Wide Web's Super Soaker Sites dead and decaying. And although many sites will not be back...Which one's will?
We'll have to wait and see...

You can trust the Nexus Newswire to inform you as soon as one is found...

That's All!

The Nexus has a New Slogan! (This new slogan replaces the old slogan, "Peace, Love, Water War!", which was introduced on 6/03/1999 as an Animated Image for a Joke. The time has come for the Nexus to become more than a Joke!).

Plenty of sites have been active this past weekend, lets see what's up...

Aquatechnology has added range reports for all reviewed XPs, CPSs, and SuperChargers this weekend. On the Aquatica Yahoo Club, Aquatech has mentioned that the findings may be a bit off due to breezy conditions.

Water Weapon Revolution has written up and posted a review or the much revered Monster XL and has added it to it's own review section. (This is just a basic review however, as the site didn't have a Monster XL Available)

The Nexus has also added a new War Story... If you have a War Story of your own, send her in! Fill in the War Story Form!

Thats The News!

4/15/2000
New site alert! A Super Soaker Mods site called "The Omega Aquilae Workshop" has popped up over on Geocities. Yet another in the hopefully long line-up of brand new pages for a Brand new Season... Good Luck!

Also, A Review of the XP105 has been added to the XP105 Review page... The Review was Submitted by "Tha Boy Wonder" AKA: Freak on a Leesh (who also wrote the CPS3000 Benchmark as well)

Just to make things clear, The Nexus will Accept and Post Reviews sent in by mail. They will be posted on the gun pages as "Submitted Reviews" if the review is fit to post (ie:No Cussing, Bad Jokes, Dirty references, etc).
So if you like your gun, and there's no review on the Nexus, feel free to submit a review of your own! Send them to the Nexus at winkyweirdow@netscape.net...

Also, Aquatechnology has added Two World Reviews today, Both on the XP105... (What's with the 105 lately?)

That's the News!

4/14/2000
The Site announced in the last Newswire report, "Water Weapon Revolution" has become the 7th Site to join the Aquatica Webring...

Aquatechnology has added a Super Soaker banner for EBWorld on it's main page...  As some of you may know, EBWorld.com is an online store on which you can buy Super Soakers online.. If you didn't know, you do now... (Unfortunately, EBWorld.com doesn't ship SuperSoakers to Canadian Addresses yet, but does ship to American Addresses.) Aquatechnology has also added a World Review for the Monster (The Green one, not the M-XL), it can be found on the Monster's review page in the Armory.
Check it out on Aquatechnology.
Also Check out EBWorld Super Soaker Lineup...

Also, the Nexus's webpage Frame works have been slightly redesigned to allow for accurate counter readings...

Thats the News!

Well... Finally, some news to report...

A new site has popped up Called "Water Weapon Revolution". For those of you who visit alot of Super Soaker websites, you may have come across a dead site labeled "Super Soaker Revolution". It appears that that has been resurrected this spring with a new Name. The Site features Super Soaker Reviews (With Detailed Reports on tested guns.. hmm..) and Links so far, with hopes of more things (Like News and possibly entry into the Aquatica Webring) to come. A Whole hearted "Good Luck" and "Welcome Back" from the Nexus!

In other news (with the Addition of Water Weapon Revolution to the Links page) Aqua-Nexus' Aquatica Partner Aquatechnology has removed the Super Soaker Webring panel from it's main page. It also has added a Super Soaker Concept (which was submitted by Email) of adding a Rubber Balloon into the pressure tank of an XP110 to create a CPS-like effect. Reportedly, it doesn't create a very constant blast, but allows for Firing upside down... At this point I'll direct your attention to the 5/29/1999 submission on the Nexus Newswire. (I never thought about trying it on an XP.. Hmm..)

And that's news to me...

4/09/2000
Just making a few updates, restructured the Nexus main page and links section, and changed the Interactive section menu around so it opens it's links in the whole main window rather than the small pocket it had before.. I've also fixed the Webring panels so that pages no longer open in the main window, rather in the entire window (or even a new window... Whoops, sorry...).

Water War has made a statement on its page, challenging POW (Problem Of the Week) solvers out there to send submissions in on the most popular POW, #13, before he Solves it himself and Closes down POW#13 on April 21st..
In the statement it says "..I could shoot them down faster than you're thinking them up. I want something original... ...Think you can top mine?"
The attitude in the message, though not surprising, has called a submission from Yours Truly, Aqua-Nexus webmaster, Nicholas Lowe. We'll have to wait and see how it turns out...
(As some of you may recall, in August 1999 the Nexus was given a crude opinionated review from Water War's Tactician (In a reply to a link request..) yeah, I still have the email, read it here.)

Other than that, Quiet days... The life in April limbo, the Nexus between Cold and Warmer weather..

4/04/2000
New Reservior on SuperSoaker.com...  This Months Pick: Super Charger Triple Charge. Judging by the results, Long Shot time extended by the swapable tanks, but sad output performance...
See for Yourself..

Other than that, Quiet Day online...

4/01/2000
The Detailed benchmark of an XP220 has been added, becoming the 20th Super Soaker Benchmark on the Nexus... See it by going to the XP220 review page or by Going Here...

What a day..

4/01/2000
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AQUA-NEXUS!!
Right around this time last year, I was putting the finishing touches on the page called "The Super Soaker Classics", a Site Devoted to the original Super Soakers(which, at the time, were the only guns I had experience with). A page that only took me only an Hour or two to do.
And Now...
Everything has changed.

The C-WSL is no longer fighting with just Classics and XPs, The Super Soaker Webring and Soaked! Newsletters have been replaced by the Aquatica organization, and most of all..
One of the small upstart pages on the internet last spring has grown to become the very page you see before you.

Today also brings with it the start of a new Month. The Month where everything gets warmer. The Month when the Sun starts to shine. The Month where the Grass turns green once again and the Tulips show us their beautiful colors.
The month where for a few hours every so often we forget who we are, our friends are, and remember who are allies are when we soak each others brains out.

As such, I renew my promise to the Newswire...  I cannot promise every day, or every news event to bring a report, but I can promise to bring one at least once a week...

In other news...  Some updates around the Nexus... Some various things here and there... Including the re-addition of the Midi!!
"Midi? I don't hear any midi...."
I know... :)  Look up by the counter to the left and click "Play Music"...  Hear it now?
Don't like that midi? Click "Off" and Click "Play Music" again...
Don't like any Midis? Don't click on "Play Music" then...
Simple...  So don't worry about coming here late at night only to run to the volume controls or throw your speakers out the window... Because The Nexus won't bug you...  But if you want some musical harmony, the Midi Jukebox has now been installed!

Other things added, Whipped up some Flash images for the 2000 CPS Reviews. As you may or may not know, The Older CPSs have had Flash images since the November 11th, 1999 Major Update. Now the CPS set is complete. See them under "CPS" in the Super Soaker Reviews section.
Also, the Menus on the Information Station have been redone. Tips and Tactics have been moved back onto the main menu from their previous location on General Information, and Text has been made larger.
And to add more to this Big day, I have recently acquired an XP 220, a 2000 XP... So far I find the gun Impressive..

In News From Around the Soaker World, a new Feature has appeared on Aquatechnology. The Aquatechnology Forum, a Message Board, has been added to Soaker World... Looks like another way to comunicate this summer. (Also note, There is a Message Board in the Nexus's Interactive Section, and Two Great Yahoo Club Boards at  http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/aquatica and http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/miballiance.. Looks like the Super Soaker Online Community will never fall apart..)

Well, quite the update...
Happy Soaking!
