Thing's are quiet... No news to report.
Thats All!
As such, Some of the local pages have been busy...
Mikah's
SS Page Celebrates it's Second Anniversary of service as a webpage...
It was constructed originally on March 23rd 1998 as a resource page for
Game cheats called "Cheats R Us", and as a way to learn HTML. It was later
changed to Super Soakers in Summer 1999, and its counter hasn't stopped
since...
In light of this, it has
made some updates, Go
and See.
Aquatechnology
has also updated... It has added a Arsenal Storage picture to Soaker World's
Image Gallery, more importantly, His Arsenal...
Really
Something to see...
Other than some Spring Cleaning at the Nexus, Thats about it!
I'd be nuts to run outside right now wearing a T-Shirt and Shorts with my CPS 1500, as it is Below Freezing and there's snow on the ground... But there is always the hope that with Time and its inevitable trek across this land that come the middle of this coming April, the Snow will be gone and I'll be running for my life, looking for refills...
And what a fitting day for the Aqua-Nexus to top its 5000 hit mark on the Counter, just days shy of the 1st year Anniversary on April 1st... Here's to 5000 more.
This year we have much more to look for this year than last, New Soakers, Aquatica Newsletter, and the Aquatica Webring, and hopefully a New Spirit for Soaking for the Year 2000... And even though it won't speed up until May, and I won't be out until Mid-April, the Season Starts NOW!
Happy Soaking in 2000!!!
As for the News.. Things are pretty.. Quiet.. Other than Server problems with the Counters on Aquatechnology, Mikah's SS Page and Even here on the Aqua-Nexus. The Counter Server, www.TheCounter.com, has been undergoing some face lifts, and hopefully these errors will be rectified soon.. (Otherwise it could cause a mass exodus away from their service to provide a more reliable counting service.)
That is All! :)
If you haven't joined the Aquatica Newsletter Mailing list you can go to the Main Start page of the Aqua-Nexus, Aquatechnology, or the Aquatica Main Page, or by going below... You can also see an Archive of already sent Newsletters on the Aquatica Main Page.

I meant to list this earlier, but Liquid Warfare has Promptly fixed the buggy menu after the March 14th Newswire. It has also Expanded its Links Section...
Also, Today marks the Second Anniversary of the Soaked! Newsletter's First issue... Aquatica hopes to launch the first official Newsletter Issue to match the Date...
That's The News...
Spring Starts Tuesday!
Liquid Warfare has also been busy, adding a Links Section to it's site not long ago. However, it's menu is still a bit buggy, Hopefully it won't be long until it's repaired.
And Super Soaker.com has given us a Sign of life finally this month, They've changed their Splash image at the Start of the Site (which looks quite nice), and have posted the March 2000 Edition of the Reservior. This Months Pick - SuperCharger Big Trouble, the New SuperCharger Backpack. Go there and See...
And here on the Nexus, some extensive upgrading has taken place on the Information Station. The Station is been reformatted to relieve it's current cluttered condition. So far, most Generic information (Tips, Tactics, Commentaries, etc) has been moved to a new Subsection called "General Information". There is still more to come, as this relief is to make room for another Section. So Stay Tuned...
And Only 1 Week 'Till Spring!!!
It's Coming...
And That's The News...
Aquatechnology
has had some problems over the last week. Currently it's web space provider,
Globalserve, has changed Domain names from www.globalserve.net to www.iprimus.ca,
as iPrimus now owns Globalserve. As a result, his page has moved from http://www.globalserve.net/~harlequin/Aquatech/,
to http://www.iprimus.ca/~harlequin/Aquatech/.
Hopefully this problem will
be rectified shortly.
Onto the news...
Updates. Yes, A few sites
have been busy this week.
Aquatechnology
has added a review for the XP 105 that was submitted by a Fan.
Mikah's
SS Page has added a Review for the SC Triple Charge - a 2000 Generation
Soaker.
Also, a New Site (Well, newly discovered, it's really been up since Fall '98) has been found with oodles of information for your Super Soaker Needs. It is called "HydroPhiles" and can be found at http://soakers.mit.edu/ . It is a very nice site that features Mini-Reviews of Available guns, Diagrams of how Super Soakers work, and a Repair Center. Not only is it a Good Site, it is also Active. I cannot tell when they last updated, but My Guess is at least January 2000. (Hopefully they can be talked into Joining Aquatica... I can Dream, can't I?)
And that's the News.
Aquatechnology made some minor updates today, other than that, Quiet day online...
Other than that.. Slow week.
The Results of the 1200 benchmark only confirm my Speculation (In yesterdays news) that the Super Soaker.com's Measurements weren't all they were cracked up to be... It is now for sure that SS.com's reports of Total gun capacity was for Both the Reservoir and Pressure Tank Combined. I'm a tad disappointed that the 2000's won't completely obsolete the 1998 CPSs, but I think that most people will be happy to hear that their current guns still have a chance... Especially those who can't afford to buy a new gun...
And that's the News.
Perhaps a rather shocking
realization has come about with the New Super Soakers after the First Review
of a 2000 Gun. Super Soaker.com advertised the CPS 1700 originally as being
able to hold 127oz... The Benchmark reveals that the 1700 only holds, in
it's tank, 102oz.
But SS.com knows there are
nit pickers like the Aqua-Nexus who can find out these things, so they
wouldn't lie...
Would they?
I don't think so... One
simple thing... We all know there is the technique of Filling the gun,
pumping it up, then filling it again, to expand our capacity. What if...
What if SS.com reported the Capacity of the 1700 after using that technique...
Lets look at the Numbers...
SS.com Report = 127oz
Reservoir and Pressure Tank
Capacities = 102oz + 26oz = 128oz..
127oz = 128oz.. An
excellent likeness..
So if that's how SuperSoaker.com
did their measurements, then what about the other Super Soakers? CPS 1200?
CPS 2700? The Monsters? Were they done the Same?
Maybe these guns aren't
all they're Cracked up to be...
(Please Note, SS.com said
that the CPS 1200 carries 100oz, while the Total Capacity of the CPS 1000
is (77oz + 21oz) 98oz.. They'd be almost the same size...)
We'll just have to wait and
see when the next review arrives..
And that's the News..
