Well, Tomorrow brings to
us the first day of March. Cold in some places, Unseasonably warm in others
(like say, here?), but there's one thing that March means...
Spring!... Yeah..
After a long hard fall and winter, We are finally on the last stretch -
headed straight for the Good Weather. And you all know what Spring means!
Easter Candy!... err...
Spring Break? well, close...
Soaking Weather?
BINGO..
Once the temperatures reach
the seasonal average of Room Temperature (21 degrees Celsius), It's the
start of the season - where ever you are...
Just by coincidence (well,
perhaps not coincidence) Stores have started to move their stock of Super
Soakers out onto the floor.. So far, the Stores in my Area (Saint John,
New Brunswick, Canada) have even gotten as far as to get some of the Brand
Spankin' New 2000 Series Super Soakers in stock... (XP 310, CPS 1200, CPS
1700 and SC Big Trouble So Far at Wal-Mart - In yesterdays news, Aqua-Nexus
reported obtaining a CPS 1700 for review).
So if you need a new Soaker
for the 2000 Season, one should be fairly easy to find... However, if you
wish to buy the Biggest mother of a gun you can find, I suggest waiting
for April or May for the Mammoth Monster XL to Arrive.
And that's the News..
Aquatica,
a joint project between Aquatechnology
and the Aqua-Nexus, Has Officially announced that it will be Producing
the "Aquatica Newsletter" for the Spring of 2000. It will be the first
Newsletter since the Demise of the Soaked! Newsletter in the Summer of
1998. Aquatica
is Currently working on Issue #1, due for release in Early-Mid March of
2000.
If you wish to recieve the
awaited first issue and those to follow, There is a Listbot Signup Bar

Mikah's SS Page has also updated this past week, notifying the public that he has a 2000 Super Soaker - the SC Triple Charger. Perhaps Soon he'll have a review...
Aquatechnology announced on Yahoo Clubs Aquatica that his new Site Update will launch on February 29th..
As for here on the Nexus, The Links page has been modified to include "MaXStaR's Webcenter" in the Other Links Section. (This is a Site that I announced plans for on the 11/24/1999 Newswire report) I've also reduced the number of Pictures on the Links page for faster loading..
Quite a few things around here have been changed, so go ahead and look around for them.
And Now for today's Newswire
Report...
On the 1/20/2000
installment of the Nexus Newswire, I said that Aqua-Nexus would be going
down for system upgrading, and would be down for a few days at least...
After being out for almost
two weeks, the Newswire is ready to resume reporting the News From Around
the Soaker World..
And over the Last Few Weeks,
a Couple of things have Changed. (What would you expect?)
Sites like Aquatechnology,
Mikah's SS Page, MiB and WaterWar have seen Changes over the last little
while.
Aquatechnology
is Cleaning up its Site a little offline (whatever that means), while Mikah's
SS Page has added a Review to the XP 250, and has updated the Links
Section...
MiB
Has Officially been inducted into the Aquatica
Webring. (This Happened a While ago - Feb 10th)
Also, Water
War has skimmed down it's already small site out look.. The Site
originally famous for it's RPG and Weekly POW, and the same site which
blasted the Aqua-Nexus in an Email Reply Bashing this site (See
the Email Here) in August of 1999, has Removed both its Online RPG
Game and It's Outdated Links Section. Now all that's left is the POW...
(Something that Never agreed with me anyway, due to it's rather far fetched
story lines..) And not to mention the Annoying Midi that's remained unchanged
for as long as I've been visiting it, I see no reason to continue visiting..
(however as the Newswire Reporter, I have no choice).
Bad Move for Water War...
However, My Slogan Remains Unchanged...
Peace, Love and Water War!
Also recently discovered (and featured in the "Worldwide Links" section of Soaker World on Aquatechnology), is the main SuperSoaker page for Northern Europe. WWW.SUPERSOAKER.DK, though in different (Non-English) Languages, if you hunt around enough, you will find, in the Splash Zone, a Java-based 3D Super Soaker Shooter game... Battle the Sergeant off the commercials in a 3D Maze... Fun! X to start and side step, Z to fire, Spacebar to enter the next level when you find the picture of the CPS Super Soaker at the end of each level. There are reportedly 4 levels to the game... (Requires a Fast Computer)
Other News...
Yes, The Aqua-Nexus will be making another
major update.
Although nothing could ever
compare to how major the last update (11/11/1999) was, This up-and-coming
update, due for release on February 22nd (or 2/22/2000), is not to be considered
as major as the last update. However quite a few things will change graphically.
As the Next Aqua-Nexus Upgrade
is to be focused on making the site easier to use, All Suggestions are
welcome, and invited. I need your feedback to make this site the best it
can be.
What do I need to know?
Simple! Are you having any trouble viewing or navigating the Nexus? Does
something Displease you? Something driving you nuts? Let me know... I'll
see what I can do to fix it.
