I'm not too great at writing about myself, so if I leave anything out that anyone thinks should be included, let me know. Here goes:

My name's Adrian. I've been a member of the online soaking community for (I think) 6 years. I think it was the year before EES came out. Joined Aquatica and moved with it through its various incarnations, eventually winding up at WaterWar.net and briefly SSC before coming here. With Cloud and Veteran, I tried to restart Aquatica, I was involved with General RAK's Watertalk and (peripherally) IYouth, and now I'm an administrator and joint owner of WaterWarfare.com. I'm also a moderator and Rogue Member of ISoaker forums.

I started soaking roughly a year before joining Aquatica. Got the PowerSurge 2500 from Wild Water Weapons, and loved it. Best soaker I've ever used, and I've used most of the big ones. That started a bit of an addiction, and I picked up a lot of pistol to intermediate-sized soakers over the next few years.

I ran five neighborhood Water Wars, the first two being ordinary, the third being a spectacularly catastrophic failure the effects of which are still felt today, the fourth being dull, and the fifth being fantasticly wonderful. I don't have a firm grip on the dates, but I think the wars ran every August from 2000-2005. 2006 was the last time I had a water fight, so I guess you could say I've retired. I'd come out of retirement if I could find someone to fight with, but all my potential opponents think it's for kids.

In the paint, I'm a student of technology. I prefer to fix something broken than add to a landfill, though I'm not a treehugger tie-dyed hippie type. I'm currently 5/7s the way through an associate degree for computer technology studies, with way too many Mickey Mouse tolerance and diversity classes to go.

Technology is just to pay the bills however, as my ultimate goal is to be a writer, and to enter politics. I'm currently working on 2 adult novels, one to sell, one to distribute online, and one of my friends is doing me the favor of writing the backstories up for ISoaker forums. I'm also planning on running for alderman/city councilman when the next election takes place.

I work what is considered to be full time, selling all sorts of things at a mammoth bookstore, though my usual products are CDs and DVDs.

I describe my religion as Christian-animist, as I find the Christian God in the most unlikely places, and generally it isn't inside a church. I also don't care what others believe and will only discuss my religious afiliations when people ask, or when I'm writing up profiles, like this one.

I'm intensely political, and my belief in the supremacy of human freedom informs all decisions that I make. I believe that people act best when left alone by government, and that those who want to be the most free must control themselves the most. Having spent the last 3 years working with computers, I KNOW that in just about all things, there's a right way to do things, and a wrong way, a way that happens (or works) and a way that is supposed to work, and I'm not hesitant about pointing out discrepancies between the two.

My favorite music is soulless pop rock, with some 80s hairmetal and symphonic rock opera mixed in. My favorite movies are usually long, violent, and have morally conflicted heroes. My favorite books are usually much the same as my favorite movies, with the noir category dominating.

I'm just an average guy, looking to make some friends, be left (mostly) alone by the rest of the world, and find a small measure of peace on planet earth. Wow, does that sound like a yearbook quote.

To fill in some information that's sketchy for you Adrian, I don't remember you from back in 2002 when I first joined the Aquatica Ikonboard, and you didn't post at the 2001 Yahoo Aquatica (at least under the name Adrian). So, 6 years isn't accurate. The year before EES was 2002, and early 2003 was when I first remember spotting you at the ClubAquatica board. Late 2002 would make sense.

Sketchy is a good word for it. It was the fall/winter before EES. Don't remember when exactly that was. I was definitely on Ikonboard, it didn't make sense to me at the time why we migrated when the board was still fuctional. :oo:

Thanks for clarifying some things.

Adrian
