Hey, I'm Cobralex297 and i love to soak. I collect soakers and have a somewhat formidable collection. I live in MA so if anyone that might live near me would like to soak or anything like that, just gimme a message.

I specialize in Sniping and Heavy guns.

Usually, I listen to patriotic country music; Toby Keith, Montgomery Gentry, that kinda stuff, but I definitely have a large soft side for the occasional wild '80s hair metal guitar solo. Also, Stevie Ray Vaughan Rules!

I like war literature a lot, with my favorite author being W.E.B. Griffin, but I also enjoy many others, especially Pat Conroy, the author of two of my favorite books: The Lords of Discipline and The Great Santini.

My favorite Loadout: CPS 1500 and CPS 2000, 2000 primary and 1500 to use after pressure is drained on 2000 if fight continues and is necessary. Also, i have an XP270 that i carry as a secondary secondary weapon, and at least one XP20 or comparable gun as a backup blaster. This is all subject to change, as i have enough soakers to change loadouts to suit the environment that i am in.

Affiliated teams: None. I soak alone.

Aliases: too many to count.

Favorite Quote(s):

1.) - "For lack of guidance a nation falls, but many advisers make victory sure." - Proverbs XI, 14
2.) - "Pain is just weakness leaving the body"
3.) - "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." - John, 15:13

Favorite Method of Soaking: Sniping - with total stealth, or Heavy Gunning, with total lack thereof.

:soakon2:

Armory growing alarmingly.
Will continue to update every 10+ soakers or so from this point on.

NEW:

My wanted list-
these are soakers that I would like to acquire or would like to acquire more of. If you have any and would like to sell, just say so please.

a + Next to a soaker means that I really REALLY want that one, and will offer much greater than market value for it.

a - Means that although I'm still very interested, my interest is not at a level equal to that of a +.

Want List:

- Max-D 2000 (x1 [more])

- MI: Defender
- STE/MI: Flash Flood (x1 [more])

Total Wanted: 3

Newest Edit [Wednesday, 7/18]:
Since the last update a few days ago, I've purchased a second CPS 1500. I cannot decide whether or not to k-mod this gun, however there's a good chance that I will. I paid $30.00 + S&H which is not terrible in my opinion, especially for summer.

Besides that, I've purchased three more SS50s. I am praying that they are all in good working condition, but if even just one is (I think that they all are, I'm just saying...) even if just one is, I've still got an amazing deal. here's the Ebay link. 7.99... who cares, it's just awesome.

I've also acquired an EES. Yeah, I know, an EES. It's not terrible for a small, pressurized reservoir gun, however the noise made is just silly. EES: Turbine is the one I got.

As of now, I think that I'll update the profile every Wednesday, barring anything major happening that warrants an update. Wednesdays are good, as they're... idk; easy to remember?
We'll see.
Keep on comin' back, this will be updated at LEAST weekly.

Update, 8/6: I sold a few guns, one of my SS50s broke, and I got a Max-D 4000, one of the guns on my wanted list that I've been looking to get, FOREVER. I finally got it, and can concentrate on the others. I also now have an SC400, which I have also been trying to get for a long time, I'll take that off the list as well. This takes the wanted list down from 11 to 9, which is a very good thing. I'm selling a few guns because I'm a little short on cash, but also because I'm trying to consolidate and concentrate my armory. I don't have all the guns, I can't afford to have a collection as big as iSoakers, but I wish I could, so I'm selling the soakers I don't want as much to pay for the ones that I do want. I also bought a NIB Cps 2100 for 11.00, and a NIB Super Soaker Man, both good finds, I think, and will be cool to have. Definitely funny though, that the NIB Super Soaker Man cost more than the 2100... lol. From Duxburian I got a Speedloader 1000, which is an interesting gun. Perhaps the smallest CPS gun, it's a PISTOL, which is super cool for a CPS. Decent range and power, it makes a great last resort weapon.

Will update as more happens.

More; 8/6

The Super Soaker Man, NIB is coming in today. It will be definitely pretty cool, I will post pictures of it to the gallery, it will be in the pictures of my NIB section, of course.

Update: 8/10

My CPS 2000 Mk. 2 is experiencing some mild leakage at this time. Pictures won't really show much, so I won't put them up. What I will say though, is that for some reason, water dribbles out of the end of the barrel, once the gun is pressurized. When unpressurized, the gun drips no more than expected, but immediately after it is pumped up, the gun begins to lose both pressure and water out of the front of the nozzle.

Although this does not drastically affect the way that I'll play with the blaster, it may eventually become a problem and I intend to do everything that I can do to try to fix it.

Advice and ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Update: 8/12

I have found the source of the leak. As opposed to a weak trigger valve, there were two small holes or cracks in the plastic housing of the nozzle/valve. These holes would spew out a constant stream of water when the chamber was filled, obviously lowering the water level in the chamber, and the pressure. This seems to be an easier fix than the original problem, as I've just slathered the area with PVC cement. I'm waiting for it to dry currently, and will most likely put the gun back together and test it today.

I have pictures that I will upload later.

Thanks a bunch, all that have helped, we're not through this problem yet...

EDIT: Update-

Here's the before picture, you can see where the water is spewing from the apparent holes/cracks in the front end of the gun, in the general nozzle/trigger valve area. You'll also notice that there are some rubber bands in place on the gun, however they were immediately taken off after I realized that they were not at all necessary or related in any way in their placement, to the problem area(s). Also, I am pretty sure that I placed them in the wrong general area ... I'm sure there's a more specific technical name for the part mentioned, however the picture really shows exactly where the water was coming out.

After liberally applying both PVC Cement and some Aerosol Adhesive, the hole was thoroughly plugged. I waited about two hours for everything to dry, as that was the minimum recommended time on the PVC Cement bottle, and then I put the gun back together (with the help of a friend, to speed things up), and gave it a test. It worked great, with less overall nozzle leakage than before the climax of the problem. I assume that this is a direct result of my heavy hand with the adhesive.

Although you can't really see any difference, I will show you an 'after shot', of the general area.

The gun now works great. I appreciate all the offers of advice, without them I definitely wouldn't have had the confidence to open up the gun, regardless of the problem being different.

The cracks do seem, independently of others, to be a noteworthy and reasonably severe issue. I have coated the area that had been experiencing crackage with PVC Cement, in order to prevent anything similar from happening. I am unsure if the pictures that I had taken in the process (and linked to/emailed to you, iSoaker - :-P) will be enough, however if so, I will be more than happy to answer and correspond in regard to any questions necessary in the creation of an article on this topic. Feel free to contact me in this regard, I will happily contribute as needed. At this time, the gun is in great working condition, possibly better than it was in before. so I'm happy regardless of the severity of the problem, as I think that I have fixed it thoroughly.

Update: 8/14

Important Update:

The PVC Cement that I used to fill/reinforce the cracked area has cracked and/or deteriorated. In correspondence with Ben_, he warned me that this might happen and recommended against the use of PVC Cement on soakers as it is more of a solvent welder than an adhesive/crack-filler.

Next, I think that I will use some kind of all purpose cement or cement(s), in order to completely prevent anything like this from ever reoccuring. This, I will most likely do today.

Advice/Comments?

Edit:
Update, 8/23/07

Not much to say today but for that I do intend to post pictures of my upcoming repair on the handle of my Xxp 275 blaster. The handle was damaged by my little brother. I probably shouldn't have let him use it, however I wanted someone more to add to the fight, and he wouldn't take any other blaster. Obviously, this is not okay. I need to find a solution to this problem, hopefully I'll be able to buy him his own Cps gun before next summer, so he'll be happier with using that. Most likely a 2100, as the rigidness of the tracked pump will probably be best for him, as he is a rough and irresponsible user.

Moving on, today I also updated my armory list.
I removed:
two CPS 1500s - one of which I sold, the other of which I traded away
one CPS 2100 - this one was NIB. I traded it for a Cps 2000, with some leakage issues.
one Super Soaker Big Bottle Blaster - This one is not fully operational, but is also not reviewed by iSoaker. I am donating it to the iSoaker collection.
and lastly, one SC 600. It's a great gun, one that I had plans for. Unfortunately, the friend that gave it to me, his parents insisted that he take it back, for some reason. Ugh... well, it was fun while I had it.

This concludes the update for 8/23/07.

Update: 8/28

Cps 1000 acquired, taken off wanted list.

Update: 9/24

It has been a while since I have updated this page.
Not for lack of interest or activity of course, just for lack of time.

I have acquired since that last update a few soakers, and they are the following:

SS: XTC (x19)
SS 100
Xp 110 (x2) - NIB

The total number of the above soakers is 22, however this is still much smaller amount per month than during the summer, as the above soakers only make up three transactions. Three transactions for soakers in a month, it's kinda sad. My collection, I suppose, although continuing to expand throughout the winter will most likely do so at a lower speed.

My next acquisition will be an SS 300, in very good condition, with box. I am negotiating currently with the seller, and the deal is just about settled. He will be shipping it out sometime this week, so I should have it by sometime next. I am quite excited for it because it is said to perform extremely well.

Once I have used this, I will have used every good backpack gun. I don't really count the Xp 300 because it's really the same as the SS 300, and because... well, I have no idea how I'd go about acquiring that one.

Will report after I've tested the SS 300 and one of the NIB XP 110s.

Update: 9/26/07

I've just acquired a NIB SC:400, the earlier NOT 2000 version. I already have a 2000 Edition, however it's not fully functional due to an accident while in use by a friend... so because of the accident, my friend was willing to pay for part of a new one. Since I got a good deal, both of us were cool with it. I'm excited for this gun, I'll definitely keep it NIB, but it'll be the first QFD: Type One that I'll have, which means that now I actually have all the QFDs made by Super Soaker, as well as all made by WWW!

I have the QFD: Type 1, the QFD: Type 2, The QFD: Monster, and the Speedloader Filling Devices, both Reinforced and Non-Reinforced..
I'm very happy.

Update: 10/17

I have tested the Xp 110 and am quite impressed. I very much enjoy this weapon. It will make a fine light blaster for skirmishes, or even a decent one to hand to whoever's doing reconnaissance. It is light, yet a powerful, no-nonsense gun.

As well, I have tested the SS 300. Amazing power, yet the fragility does bother me. It will be more of a wall-based trophy than a battle-oriented soaker.

Also, I now have the two NIB Xp 20s. They are mint, as is the box. They look great, I'll keep them in box.

I won at auction also a Monster/Monster X, 2000 Edition. This is the larger of the Monster models, not the cut-down one. I am very excited, I can now take this gun off of my wanted list, leaving only 5 blasters there.

Update: 10/20/07

Tonight, I won an Xp 310. This is a soaker that I've had trouble with in the past. Long ago, I had owned one, but I somehow hurt the pump shaft and at the time lacked the capacity for repairs. This summer, I bought one on ebay. It arrived broken. No gripes with the seller though, they refunded.

Finally now, I will have one though, as it is such a popular and common gun, especially by comparison to some of the others that I have, it makes on sense at all for me to not have one. It was on my list of most wanted guns!
Now, it is off of the list, leaving the number of soakers on the list at 4!

Edit: 10/22/07

Just added the 310 to the list and then did a recount of everything there. The total is 92. This is a few more than I thought I had, I guess I'm now better at counting than before. I am definitely going to do something special for my 100th soaker, however I am definitely unsure right now as to what.
