STE Flash Flood - Flash Flood

Postby supersoaker on Wed Jun 08, 2005 7:23 pm

In this review I will be reviewing the STE FF

The FF Colors are Green, orange and black, a good color design in my eyes! It holds 1L of water, and has a solid laminated stream of water. This water shoots 40 feet, but the FF nozzle, which is activated by pulling the silver trigger on the top of the gun. Now I know what you're thinking, this is a remake of the MAX-D Secret Strike right? Wrong this gun has CPS and a lot more soaking power. I noticed that when unleashing a FF it doesn't completely empty the tank it takes about 2/3 of it, but not all. When unleashing a FF the water shoots about 30 feet, and spreads out A direct hit from this would completely drench someone! (I know I shot my sis with it :D ) As stated earlier it has CPS tech. the pump feels a little flimsy, but hasn't broken yet, I love the trigger it's so comfortable, I was using it and my Arctic Shock when I relized how much more comfortable the FF;s trigger is then the AS's TIP: Try faking someone out by putting your hand on the trigger and let them try to dodge, then shoot them! When I unleashed a flood I got a very noticeable kickback from the gun!

Pros:
Sleek colors, CPS, Light, Trigger is comfy, large 1L capacity and has a riot blast!

Cons:
Can't think of any

FF 10/10

The Flash Flood is overrated IMO. If you want to see the cons, send a PM in my direction. :p BTW many FFs have had trigger valve-related problems. To be fair, it is a light, compact gun with ok range and has that nice ~11x nozzle that really spreads out. But the reservoir doesn't hold much water, and the FF can easily be swept aside if your gun outclasses it.

Like Dux, I too think the FF is overrated. The main nozzle feels weak for a cps based gun and the FF nozzle leaves you defenseless against your foe as you need to pump the gun back up after using it. It's a great gun, don't get me wrong, but it's flaws keep it from being anything special in my eyes. :(

My friends, atleast it's a step in the right direction. Sure, the Flash Flood is not the best soaker out there, but it's a lot better than the crap we got last year. So be happy, please. I dont enjoy it when people bicker about the STE line.

I once escaped a Flash Floods riot blast. :) It was a narrow escape like escapeing a long crumbling cave. :;):

You can go on ebay or order one from Hasbro online if your positive they won't be appearing in stores where you live.

..and if one keeps an eye on the Soaker Shopping 2006 thread, I'll keep it updated on where I manage to find soakers. Last time I went shopping, though, hadn't seen any. I'll check again later this week... Soakers should start appearing on store shelves any day now (based on past experience).

@ all thread posters: Please use the the in The Armoury for continued shopping-related posts. Thanks!

one last shopping related post here, since i don't think i can quote you isoaker way over in the armoury forum. i went today to 4 different stores (toys r us, wal mart, superstore and canadian tire) and only superstore had any water guns: oozinator and liquidator so we must wait a bit until some more soakers appear.

Flash Floods are crazy, I got one , Im have a water fight in June and each team gets like 4 FFs, the only cons would be limited water reserve and shot time.

After reading your post, I'm guessing you have never used a CPS soaker before. Once you have used an older CPS gun, just about everything else feels weak. Now I wish I never got a FF because I never use it. When I need a small, light soaker for a battle, I never use my FF any more. The only thing I like about the FF is the Flash Flood nozzle, and it isn't even that strong. I'm sorry, but the FF just isn't as good as people think it is.

Some of the newer members on my team are also like that. 5 of them bought the 2nd generation Flash Floods and can't get over them. I offered the 2500s, the 1500, the 12K, etc. and they chose to stick with the FFs. In our last war, one reason the score was so close was because we did not have our usual giant tech advantage. You see everyone with Flash Floods, then you see me, wielding a 2500 and an 11K. I had to move around a lot in order to try and prevent kills against us, since kills were mostly traded because of the darn Flash Floods. A few kinda regretted it after they realized that only my guns were any real threat to the enemy due to the range.

Nice review, but abit subjective.
I can't blame younger/new generations for believing the Flash Flood is good if that all they know. Man, some never even heard of an SS300 or an CPS1000. And if those little Max Infusion guns are great for them and the ultimate soakers, then good for them.
But personaly, I will say this: 1 litre tank is prity bad, same with the 1 second shot on the riot nozzle.

Now having said that, I prefer younger users to use the soakers of their generation(SoakerTag,TagElite,Max-Infusion), so us veterans from the 80s and 90s can buy the soakers on ebay from our own genertaion for cheap. To each our own soakers would be ideal. Well, at least for me.
