Well, if you guys opt to drill a pin-sized hole at the top, when filling, just cover it with a finger; that should stop any leak during refilling. :goofy:

I do believe the sound the Orca makes was a sheer oversight on their part; the name of the blaster is just particularly coincidentally amusing. :p

I dunno, Big Bee said that was his favorite part of the blaster, and more importantly, why else would you put the cap at the bottom of the reservoir?

Good thinking with covering the hole, though. I'm thinking if there was a plug you could use, you could also turn on the the noise if you wanted to get somebody rolling in laughter before shooting them. :laugh:

I have a small one, visualize the bottom of a coke bottle (2 liter) the little hard plastic round thingy is about the size of the hole it would make. Is this too big?

Nobody in my family drinks soda except at parties out of the house, so it's just a coincidence we have a 2L Diet Pepsi here. Wonder why.

In the bottle (Pepsi, not Coke), there's a tiny "hole" inside the large nub. If the drill bit is the size of the hole, it's a little bit but probably okay. If it's the size of the nub, it's not going to work.

I wouldn't use a drill bit larger than a needle. You could make a large hole, apply duck tape, and poke a small hole with a needle...but that would look terrible. :laugh:

Buzz Bee, please introduce the removable water bottle reservoir of the past in the Orca! It would make refilling water much more efficient then any cap placement ever could.

The thing is too weird shaped for that, but I would love to invert it so the cap is on TOP. . . stupid Rrararrrrarr noise. Any soaker makes that noise when the water is against the cap!! GUAH! A couple of house painters the other day stared at me and laughed while I was doing range tests :bm1000:

Really obnoxiously loud. The harder you pump, the louder. If you want to hear it yourself, take ANY watergun and pump while water is touching the cap area. The sound is made by air being drawn through the water. BBT decided "Hey let's make a side effect into a feature!" I'm on to you guys!

I'm about to go drill it and glue the cap. Anything I need to know before I break it?

If you glue the cap shut, make sure air can still enter the reservoir through some other hole. Otherwise, you risk collapsing your reservoir from the negative pressure caused when you pump water from it into the PC.

I *might* do that, but I'll probably just drill the hole and use duct tape over the hole in the cap. I can always put the duct tape over the other hole if I want the sound again. And if I really want to revert, I could epoxy the hole in the top...

It's not that loud, not much louder than normal pumping causes.

I have no plans to make any mods like that to mine, it's not worth it, and can cause occasional leaking.

Not if you drill in the right place. Let the laws of gravity think for you. On such a tiny TINY hole, the pressure against it would keep water from spilling out.

It's less an issue of pressure than it is of gravity and size. Most of the time, the gun is upright. When it's upside-down or you're swinging it around, barely anything will leak through.

Hmm... Anyone noticed that most of the BBT guns are kind of bulky, heavy, and significantly less handy that the CPS's? What can be done to lighten them up? Is the pressure gauge setup the main problem?

Yes, it is bulky. The trigger area is hard to get use to, it blisters my hands easily. I might tape mod it (putting tape on the hard plastic seems :p )

Pumping it can only be done upright unless you want arthritis early in your life. Hope the blaster isn't too wet or you will get an icy chill on your bare side pumping.

The goods: I <3 the drencher. I did a field test today with my 11 year old sister and had almost no water left. The shot time on the medium is beautiful. It lasted so long (she was holding it, I wish it was shorter

). Anyway, I armed the drencher, still had a 1 on charge meter (yes, I use that thing don't laugh) and fired at her when she was turned around. It soaked her to the bone in around 1-2 seconds. She screamed for mommy when that happened. ABSOLUTELY completely soaked. Maybe I'm just a sucker for not being around the water era of 96-03 but that was insane!

Yeah, they seem pretty bulky. Guess it's just a design choice. I'd prefer the longer, lighter feel of guns like the CPS 2000/2500, 3000/3200, and Monster/4100.

I got an Orca last night, and it's pretty much a Blazer. Also, I don't see why people complain about the 'whale sounds' because almost all soakers make a slightly toned down version of it.

This soaker is designed for it, the others just make the noise if you overfill and only lasts for the first few pumps. I said it before, and I will say it again - they took an air-being-pulled-through-water sound that just HAPPENS to barely sound like a whale/dolphin/squid and marketted it.

I still suggest getting spongy tape and putting it all along the inside-trigger area seems, where after a while your hands start scraping up against it. Ouch.
