SS 300 - Anticipation Rating: *****

Selling, buying, shopping for and/or trading water guns / blasters

Well, today I had my last Module Exam before the massive ones I have in May/June. So, I decided to have a little bit of celebration, and no matter what people think, I just couldn't resist to open up my new in box SS 300. Can you believe that you actually have to make this thing. Well, I have put it all together and I am going to test it tomorrow. I am very much looking forward to it, and I don't know what to expect. I may put duct around the plastic that the lever trigger spring pulls on, just to make it more secure. Hopefully I'll get some pictures, I'm eagerly anticipating this, from all the good stuff I heard about it.

I don't think I'll use this for a battle, its too fragile, although I could use it for a long range high power sneak attack if its good just with the gun itself.

More to come later.

The SS300 feels delicate when you first take it out of the box, but its stream performance is very impressive. The backpack isn't the most comfortable design, but it did hold the most amount of water of its time. Enjoy your new possession!

Well, the golden moment came, and I just tested it now. I pumped it full, and pulled the trigger for the golden moment, and WOW! I was amazed, its probably the biggest water gun shooting fascination I have had. The stream was massive and so incredibly powerful. It shot very far too, I couldn't really make it out properly because of the wind.

This gun basically makes nearly all the other air pressure soakers around them medicore and even rivals CPS blasters.

When pulling the lever trigger, it actually felt quite strong, I think the reason why the lever triggers on guns like the SS 300 broke a lot was because of how they were treated. I noticed that you barely have to pull the trigger to get full power, so maybe its because people were pulling too hard on the trigger making it weaker. I always go delicate on the trigger and only pull it back a bit. The reason why it could be extended right back is just for support really in my view.

Well, as for favourite air pressure soaker, and even my all time favourite soaker, I think we have a new champion again just days after my newly added CPS 2700 became it, looks like that didn't last long. :goofy:

I'll see if I can get some pictures later.

Ok, now here are some pictures.

At present, the only SS 300 shot images on the web as far as I know, but then again, there could be some others lurking somewhere.

Now, my SS 300 deserves quite a long rest to recover from the use its had, I'm trying to take the best care of it as I can. The next time it will be out is for doing stats, where I'm still going to be careful.

I really love this gun, amazing, which like I said has become my favourite gun.

:)

Really cool. :) It's too bad good air-pressure guns like the SS300 are no longer made. I believe it holds 2 gallons, is that correct? Also I heard somewhere that it takes two minutes to pump up. How long does it really take? And is there a considerable drop-off? Is the stream-speed that good?

Sounds like a cool gun. I'm jealous. :D

It hols about 6L. It doesn't take 2 minutes to pump up, far from it, its about the same time it takes to pump up a CPS 1500/1700 or 2700, and that's with fairly average non-wild pumping.

What makes me really like this gun is that the stream is actually CPS "like." I'm saying this because when fired the stream doesn't really drop off because of the immense power of the 3 air pressure PC's. Mine gets about 4 to 5 seconds of mass power with not much sign of drop off. When it does drop off its still pretty fierce because the air is still making the water splash out.

The stream speed is really powerful, the blast is like a garden hose and goes at about the speed of it too, its very fast and violent. You've really got to see it to believe it to see what I mean.

:surprise:

Awesome. Sounds like a homemade. :D
It looks like a great gun, and if it's that impressive now, think how amazing it would have been back in '93.

In 93' it would have probably created a massive breakthrough, no power like it had ever really been in a air pressure soaker before that. It'll just wipe the floor with the new Super Soakers.

What was also good about was that it could be used in a pool without the backback with just the connection hose that connected the gun to the backpack, so it was quite variable too.
