Wanted: Water Warfare Comics

Postby isoaker on Tue May 25, 2010 7:11 pm

Most here should be familiar with the iSoak'D comic threads. On that note, I'm wondering if there are members here who may be inspired to create their own water-warfare-related comics!

Anyone think they may be willing and inspired enough to create some comics to share with the community?

I'd like to do it. I'm kind of interested in cartooning, but I'm not a great artist. I'm also not brilliant at coming up with jokes for a comic stip.

I can do it. My brother is really good with Paint. I can make up the story, and he can illustrate it.

They don't necessarily have to be funny comic strips do they?

I haven't posted water warfare humor in the form of comics yet; I've always done it with imaginary water warfare fps games. If I have spare time to kill and feel like doing it, I'll try to come up with some comics. I'll need to come up with some ideas though.

Comic strips don't necessarily have to be funny all the time, but at least some of them should be. The others should make a point or convey a sentiment towards water warfare, but a lot of those can be made funny. For example, you could satirize the stereotype of water warfare as a kid's game.

Not every comic strip in Calvin and Hobbes was funny, but every one conveyed meaning and told a story.

Most definitely doesn't need to be funny, though funny is welcome, too! :goofy:

For those into making humor strips, that's cool! For those wanting to create more of an illustrated story, that's awesome, too! My intent is to create some new iSoak'D strips, but need to find both time and inspiration. My goal is to hopefully push up a new one in the next couple of weeks.

Here's a test comic. It wasn't meant to be that funny. It just shows my artwork. I am pretty good at art on paint.

That made me laugh. The Shot blast users face when he was getting shot was hilarious! I also like how the scope is flying off. I don't know when I'll be posting one, but I will try to soon. I figure I'll make somewhat serious strips with a splash of humor thrown in.

The image was made a little too small, and you can't see the words on the side of the giant fire engine. It used to say,"Super Fire Killer 3000".

Technically, it's Vegeta, but other than that, those are some good comics! My only recommendation is for these comics to get their own new thread, one for each comic. That will make it easier for searching and sorting through things in the future.

Isn't that what I typed?

Edit: Oh. Whoops.

That's a ridiculously long biagraphy on Vageta.

One more thing, do you have to post links to your strip, or can you just put the pic in your post? On some forums this is prohibited.

One can put pics directly in a post using the IMG codes unless where you put your images do not allow for remote linking. My only general request is to keep images/comics/etc all safe for general consumption (PG-13 rating-ish, not R or X-rated material please).

Here's one based off of iSoaker's "Charge" comics.

Good call on having the shot blast's scope detatch on the first comic.
