Welcome to iSoaker.net!

Few soakers, IMO, are really worth $100. The CPS4100 is a great blaster, but unless you have a lot of money you don't mind using, $100 for a water blaster is a bit much. There are some modern soakers that perform fairly close to the CPS4100 for much less than $100. See CPS4100 VS Vindicator

I don't think it's worth it. There are plenty of blasters that are just as good or even better for less than $100. I had a chance to get a CPS 2500 for $45 just a while back.

Why does it matter if it's NIB? Most old blasters that are used will perform just as well. The CPS 4100 isn't the greatest blaster ever anyway.

i dont know lol i dont know much about them or how they were abused/treated. Would you rather buy a new car or a used one from roberto philippe's car sales lol just piece of mind i guess, are they pretty easy to fix for a new comer assuming it breaks or something is slightly wrong.

Also little off topic What is the most that would be reasonable to pay for a NIB Monster XL 2002 edition?

I personally just try to find the best deals I can on just about anything; I wouldn't pay $100 for even a CPS 2000 and generally don't like to spend a whole lot of money. A CPS 4100 however, is worth far less than $100. You also don't know if the 4100 you're getting is the 2004 edition; the one with the trigger designed to break after several uses. It was designed by Hasbro that way most likely to avoid loosing sales on their other water blasters.

Try K-Mart or Wal-Mart. They seem to be more interested in Water Warriors. If you still can't find it, or you don't want to look around, Amazon sells Vindicators.

I think that the cps 4100 is the 04 model, its got the new super soaker box like when hasbro took over. How hard would the trigger be to fix saying i talked him down to a lower price, he says he has a few of them.

Well, it would probably be best to reenforce the trigger as soon as you get it. If the trigger did break, it would be harder to fix than if you had reenforced it.

so, you're thinking of spending 100$ on a blaster barely worth 30?

The trigger should not be too difficult to fix if you have the right materials. My friend lost part of the trigger piece on his 4100's after it broke so I had to improvise; I used a thin plastic sheet and cut out a new piece.

In either case, regardless of whether you're reinforcing or fixing, you'll need a sheet of metal and cutters for them. See the snapped trigger repair at SSC for more details. You will have to apply two strips to the side of the trigger piece; applying just one to the bottom may not work well. The process of reinforcement is pretty much the same as fixing it.

There was also an article on making a wire trigger, which would be easier, but possibly not perferred.

Here it is: http://www.sscentral.org/repairs/wire_trigger.html

It could be possible to make a trigger for the wire trigger. Get the piece of plastic mentioned (anything that fits should do the job), and tape/glue it to the end of the wire you pull on. (so the piece is perpendicular to the wire) I should look into that next time the trigger piece fails.
