Hahaha, I just finished some scratchwork of the games directory! http://hbww.comlu.com/briefing/

Lots more stuff in there than before, and gives a good idea of my ideas behind water warfare rules and game types. Its probably not all that well written though; anyone who comes across it, let me know how to make it easier to comprehend and/or better presented, and which areas need clarification..

Next, I'm going to shove up the HBWW History and Events directory up to the site. After that I can get to the PHP/SQL.

I'm making slow progress and loosing plenty of sleep. It'll (hopefully) all be worth it when the afternoon comes though.

I need some pasta. Or some Warriors' Fuel. (Warriors' Fuel: a joke you'll all get once I upload the HBWW 2011 logo and some elements from it; I personally guarantee that it'll be great when it's done.)

Looking good!

Side question: I see a "Login" on your re-design. Planning on allowing users to register to gain access to additional content/features?

Planning, but not happening in time. It'll be a simple username/pw/email registration, and login with username/pw. There will be a mini-forum and comment systems on sections of the site, and the login identity will also be used for quizzes and the scenarios subsections under the Training section. (The scenarios section will basically be a modernized version of Hydrolysis; all maps will be done in 3D, mostly screenshots from video games.)

The point of the site, as always is to focus more on content relevant to the water warring community and to my own events, than on being a community cornerstone.

Question on SQL injections; will putting all input into the mysql_real_escape_string() take care of most potential problems? I'd hate for something awful to happen and will be taking measures to prevent such injections as possible.

Anyway, as you may notice, I got the session and login working just today. I'll be getting to creating a comments system first, then to a small forum. The Barracks section will contain this comments system as a placeholder for a mini-forum, then I will put up an entry to the Scenarios section (Metal and Water, as posted before) and include the same system. This should achieve what I was looking for on Scenarios; a sort-of-rip-off of Hydrolysis done in real time.

Not even sure what I will do in the future with all this; I don't want HBWW to take away what could or should go to the community/forums instead, but it looks more "proper" with its own system and all, and its a requirement for the class. (The instructor gave me some more time to get this done so I lucked out.)

mysql_real_escape_string() takes care of most problems. Also good to verify type and even do searches for allowable characters if you want to really be sure no one is trying to inject something using a SQL injection hack. For iSoaker.com, I use a little more than just the mysql_real_escape_string(), but won't be posting code up since that may let others figure out a way around the site's security. :goofy:

As for worrying about taking away "what could or should go to the community/forums", don't. Build what you want and develop what you feel could use developing. Members of the community will post where they wish. If, in some unknown future, you decide to close to HBWW, you can always donate the content to an existing forum to prevent it from being lost. Then again, who knows, perhaps HBWW ends up being something people really like going to and becomes a new hub for the community which would be a good things as well!

Honestly, I feel the content for, say, scenarios would be more beneficial when posted as forum posts instead of sitting alone on the site. What I'll need to do is reexamine and reconsider the website's goals and how to adjust things to realign with them. In short, I guess it comes down to a few things:

- Introduce water warfare to anyone, especially for my local events.
- Present things in an easy manner that won't come loaded with anything the beginner does not need too directly.
- Produce original content that gets pushed to the community/forum anyway, but still serves as a center for all my own stuff to be gathered together.

Whatever I decide to do will be evident soon; I'll probably end up double-posting or editing about it anyway.

So I heard u liek HBWW logos.

http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/70 ... lcomp.png/

Click image first to fill screen, then drag it into your address bar to see it in full 1920x1080.

Anyway, it's not exactly complete, but pretty close. As you can see, the picture focuses on bringing all methods of soaking together. Perhaps I need to add hoses, buckets, and homemades lol. Then again, I'm kind of lazy and may just leave it as is.

Created with Autodesk 3D Studio Max 2012 and Adobe Fireworks CS5.

Now if only I knew how to make those water/splash effects that iSoaker does.

Nice to see the various methods of soaking represented in a single image! As for "All", don't forget about your fav. water blaster, a piston-type water blaster (though should be a syringe-type one, IMO)! :goofy:

Considering you've made those as 3D objects is pretty cool! Nice job!

Once I get cracking on the water warfare fps, I'll build up a library of blaster models which will be VERY useful for other purposes later on. Until then, I'll take it one step at a time.

Bonus: The label I used for the water bottle:

Regarding piston pumpers, as we both said, the logo focuses on unifying all methods of soaking. Water balloons hardly meet that criteria as they are, haha.
