This thing is awesome! This is a great blaster with at least as much power as the Equalizer, but it's smaller and much easier to hold with one hand. It's a perfect sidearm and possibly even good for a primary weapon, especially for minimalists. It also has good pump volume that's much better than the pump volume of blasters like the Equalizer or Stingray. My only complaint is its small enclosed grip.

I honestly like the 2000 better. They're almost the same size, and have similar range. The nozzle on mine is cracked however, so that particular one only gets about 27 ft.(I'm thinking about drilling it.) Not to mention the grip. It's very uncomfortable, and it's impossble to have all fingers on the grip. The trigger's not as hard to pull as the 2000, but my 2000 may just have an unusualy stiff trigger.

In the end, I think the 2000 is a better choice of a back-up.

You're probably right that the 2000 is better, but I've never used it except when I was 7 or something and I can't remember how well it performed. Anyway, they're selling them in two packs now, so pick some up - they're almost as good as the 2000 if not better.

The 3000 does have slightly better performance and capacity, but the grip is a complete pain. When holding it one-handed, I usually hold it with my index finger to the side (as if it were reaching for a magazine release on a rifle) while my middle finger operates the trigger.

Martian, what are you talking about by pump volume? Most PR's have roughly the same pump volume but vary slightly by diameter and stroke length. (Though this volume is difficult to measure and iSoaker doesn't do it.) The Max-D 3k can reach pressure faster but obviously, that's a different factor than pump volume.

As said, the MD2k is still generally preferable over the 3k. However, since I only have one MD2k, I grab the 3k's when dual wielding for light-soaker only games.

By "pump volume," I meant how much air is pushed in with each pump.

You're refering to the time it takes to pressurize the chamber, not the actual pump volume itself. Larger PR's likely have higher pump volumes than the Max-D 3k, such as the MD5k. The MD3k pressurizes quickly more because it has a smaller reservoir than a larger pump, though its pump is still fairly decent for a blaster of it's size. If the Equalizer's pump diameter is similar to the MD3k's (which I'd say is reasonable to assume) and it has a longer stroke (which is a reasonable assumption), then the Equalizer would have the higher pump volume than the MD3k, assuming both seals work as well. It just recharges slowly because of the large reservoir volume.
