Wow! What a rip off! And that's for an Mk.2 as well, I won my Mk.1 last year at about this time or a bit before for about $70 total. How crazy and wanting some bidders are these days. Although that person actually got beaten for once!

Get it. We can probably help you get it back into working order again. If we can't, you can canibalize it for parts.

You know how to tell, right? On the Mk.1 the pressure gauge goes all the way back to the strap holder, on the Mk.2 it doesn't go all the way there.

One can not tell by the strap alone or even at all. In a matter of fact, most Mk.2s straps don't have super soaker written on them. Mine don't, and most on ebay also didn't. The PC chamber length is the only sure way to tell them apart.

Yeah, my strap didn't have Super Soaker written on it, either. I assume that the CPS 2000 Mk.2's sold on eBay that did have Super Soaker on the straps were just given the strap by another gun they owned.

I going to try my CPS 2000 next year by saving up alot of my Cristmas money. But , if I do not get alot of Cristmas money I might tap into my birthday money.

Christmas+Birthday money for a CPS 2000? I don't think its worth it. The CPS2500 is basicaly just as good, and to some even better. Plus you can get one for $40 already during of season instead of paying $100-$200 for a CPS2000.

I don't know, the extra 10+ feet the CPS 2000 has over the CPS 2500 gives it an edge. But yeah, dollar for dollar, the CPS 2500 is a better buy. The nozzle options are an advantage, as well.

I guess that I was just getting a little excited when I posted that. Now that I think about it it would be a better buy to get a CPS 2500.

In side-by-side tests, the range difference was no greater than ~5ft. I don't know where the 10+ comes from.

And this is not the time of year to be buying CPS 2000s. You could buy multiple CPS 2000s on the money saved by waiting to buy a CPS 2000 during the fall/winter! :p $200+ vs $60, IMO is definately worth the wait.

Clearly it's good to wait if you want a CPS 2000. As for the range differences, all CPS 2500's I ever tested (I've tested at least three) only shot about 40 feet. My CPS 2000 shoots 54 feet (slightly above average). Of course, your CPS 2500's could be above range, and/or your CPS 2000 below range. It isn't really possible to tell. iSoaker's CPS 2500 appears to get about 40 feet, and his 2000 gets about 50 feet.

My 2500 on both the 5x and 10x nozzles consistantly hits the flowerpot, which marks 50ft in my backyard. Nibordude's 2000 only gets a few feet farther than that. Also, the 40ft for a 2500 can't be right, since a Flash Flood small nozzle can hit in the low 40s, so can the Aquapack, so can nearly every CPS. The Ridgewood Militia has 4 CPS 2500s, of which all shoot about the same distance. I have measured the 50ft mark in my backyard to within 1/10 of an inch accuracy as well.

I would also love to demonstrate that in a one on one duel, there is no way that a 2000 can get 10ft more than a 2500, no way whatsoever. Maybe I will film a side by side shot. The difference is within a handful of feet.
