Supersoaker.com Updates

Postby isoaker on Mon Feb 09, 2009 3:47 pm

Supersoaker.com updates its site a bit, but no new blasters yet. However, some recolours and twin-packs now appear in the Blasters & More section.

As an aside, Amazon.com has a Super Soaker 50, 20th anniversary edition listed, but no picture up yet.

Is it bad that I remember both the original and the 10th anniversary from when they first came out? Dang I'm old...

It appears there's a pic of the 20th anniversary Super soaker 50 on Supersoaker.com now ... and if it is true, it looks similar, yet different (fixed-reservoir and screw-on reservoir cap?)

Definitely odd. I suppose they don't do reservoirs that thread on any longer because they can turn into missiles, or possibly they don't have the manufacturing capacity any longer.

Perhaps they're cheaper to make. Seems like this one also might perform better than the original, though the nozzle design looks nearly the same.

Wow, very interesting. I'd take a guess and say this means the chances of seeing any carbon-copy re-releases from the pre-Hasbro days are slim to nil. They probably just got rid of most of the molds for the parts.
