iSoaker.com Ikonboard Stasis Mode

Postby isoaker on Sun Mar 09, 2008 12:25 pm

The iSoaker.com Ikonboard will be put into complete stasis mode on March 21, 2008. Presently, while the bulk of those forums are already read-only, there remains one forum open for members-only who may be having problems activating their account here. On March 21, 2008, that forum, too, will be made into read-only. I will be leaving that board online in stasis mode, allowing registered members to log in and browse around threads if they wish. It is also being kept in the event that threads converted to here got corrupted in the transition (i.e. old info can still be recovered). Of course, since that forum can not be properly backed-up, if it does end up crashing and losing data, I can only restore the last successful backup done on Jan 27, 2008.

On the bright side, this new home seems to be running relatively smoothly now. Looking forward to a great upcoming "on-season" and even better future developments!

Soak on!

I kind of miss having that convinient flash nav-bar at the top, being able to jump around the site. (i.e. if I need to pull up soaker reviews I can just go to the navbar, etc.)
Teams, Armory, Local Water Warfare, etc. HydroBrawl Water Warfare.

I see your point, but at the same time, I have grown to like the new arrangement of the forums. In some ways, now residing on a separate server, iSoaker.net mirrors the golden days of Aquatica. Of course, Aquatica has come and gone and I've no intention on resurrecting it.

What I like about the current set up is that while this place obviously definitely promotes iSoaker.com, it is still separate, thus feels more natural to be used also to promote other water warfare and water blaster websites as well. While I could relatively easily have pushed the iSoaker.com Flash Header to the top of these forums, I actually opted against it as I want this place to be linked, yet develop into its own entity as well. (If that makes any sense :goofy: )
