I've read several places that when an electrical current is applied to water, oxygen and hydrogen form on the ends of the wire. Would it be possible to use this as a pressurizing system for small water guns (such as the XP215)?

Interesting thought, but while some is true, first, it requires a good amount of electricity to generate enough gas. Second, the gases made, as you correctly stated, would be oxygen and hydrogen, but this introduces a flammability problem (i.e. an open spark could potentially ignite this pure flammable gas mix). Third, the process is relatively slow even at higher voltages, thus adequate pressurization, even for a small soaker, would take a long time.

For now, I'd stick by the statement that soakers and electronics don't mix.
