I have just decided that my favorite soaker is now definently the 15000 I have. I wasn't sure for awhile, picking between that, a 1200, Monster X, or a 3200 I have, but now I am sure that this is the one. This is probbaly the combination of many small modifications I have done over time. My 15000 might now be as powerful as other guns, but it is the right balance of weight, power, and performance for me.
The stock 1500 alone is pretty good. Mine got about 26 feet with the 10x and about 32 feet with the 5x. The 10x felt a little slushy, but the 5x shot a good solid and strong beam of water. The first major modification I did was the famous k-mod. I had to do it. I do it to almost all of my primary CPS guns. Most have broken over time, so I decided to be extra careful with this one. I added 60 12 inch balloons, and re-inforced any areas of the pipe that I have known in the past to blow. The range of the 5x went from 32 to 33 feet. Nothing much. But the 10x went from 26 feet to around 31 or 32 feet. Pretty good. The beam felt stronger, but it wasn't as well concentrated. The next mod I did was painting. I fully camo painted the entire gun, with green and black paint. Next, I switched the standard strap with a camo hunting strap from WalMart. Really, cheap, but durable, comfortbale, and camo. My 1500 rested like this for awhile, until this afternoon when I added good improvement. The gun was getting a little squeky and tempermental so I opened it up and found the problem. An old rusty trigger spring. I hacked open my brother's broken SC 400, and cannobalized the spring from that. I lubed everything up, and put her back together. I then took my brother's old broken SC Splashzooka, and sawed off the green tube surrounding the CPS chamber. CUtting it to about 1' 3" I duct taped it to the front of my 1500 (I tore of the nozzle selctor), to form a humoungous impractical silencer. I of course was not aiming to silence the weapon, or to contain the stream. I was aiming to create a cool look, as well as form a barrier so that I didn't get hit with any back spray. I tried it out. That is when I realized that I had inadvertently (sp?) taped the silencer on a slightly upward slant. The beam of water hits the bottom side of the tube slightly, and spreads it out a bit . It gives it the size of a 15 or 20x nozzle. I also for some reasongave it about a foot extra range. I am going to camo paint the new tube, in the near future as well as add on an extended tank.

Not sure exactly how this is a submission. Anyway, if you'd like to increase range further, these two articles I have been told are extremely helpful.

It's more of a feedback-type submission on a personally modified soaker (at least that's how I'm reading it). It doesn't go into much depth about how to do specific steps, but it does give an overview and potential results of doing some mods.

Thanks Doom, that was helpful. I am pondering doing a check valve freeze, but I have had 2 bad experiences with that modification, and do not want to risk my 15000.

I merely posted this because, I thought that you guys might be interested in the various mods I did.

The first time I did a check valve freeze, I was scared to death. But after It was done everything calmed down. One thing people don't always do is wait for the glue to completely dry. That area blows quite often if no one has patience.

Also, I just acquired a 1500 NIB and hope to K-mod and CVF it. So many people praise it so I had to get it.
