If not "Soakerdom", then what? - Looking for a new term

General news, announcements, and other posts from and/or related to other water warfare-related news and websites.

The term "Soakerdom" was coined some time ago... heck, I can't remember who might have been the first to use it. However, the term, while catchy, is also somewhat archaic. While "online water warfare community" works, it is also rather long to type. Any thoughts on what word or words could be used to describe all that is online water warfare?

e-Soakage? Heck, might as well call it i-Soakage. :goofy:

As for "All online water warfare", while accurate in essence, it's a little long to type.

Online Water Warfare Community (long, too)
Online Soaking Community (still a little long)
Soaking Community (shorter, but no longer states we're talking about the online community)
Web Water Warriors (WWW for short?)
Global Soakers (too general?)

I like that one, Rak. Hmm. I'm honestly a fan of Soakerdom, though.

I sometimes use the term "Water war/warfare forums" but that could get mixed and/or mean the forums at WWc.

I guess "soakerdom" will have to work for now, can't think of anything better.

* 'WetNet' (WN)
* 'SoakNet' (SN) or maybe better 'SoakerNet'
* 'SoakerWeb' (SW) or 'Super Soaker Web' (SSW), also named after the great Super Soaker Warrior (SSW) of Aqua Nexus himself

I sorta like "Soakernet", though "Water Warfare Online Community" or something like that would be used for more "official" documents.

In the end, as long as people know what one is referring to, it doesn't matter too much. I suppose the term "Soakerdom" has too much "Kingdom" in it and isn't quite how the online communities should be.

I've never found the term Soakerdom to be archaic in any sense. I've grown quite fond of it over the years, in fact.

Just my opinion.

I don't find the word Soakerdom bad, really, however it does seem to be a little ... well, I don't use it much, but when I hear it used, it kinda makes the user seem a little self important. That's just how I feel.
SoakerNet is good though, I think definitely. SN would be a good abbreviation as well.

Well, in the end, it just ends up being whatever the majority ends up using. There is no voting, per se. Just wanted to get members' thoughts on this. For all intents and purposes, the term, Soakerdom, may linger around or may be replaced in general use. I sorta like Soakernet as an alternative, but it also sounds too much like a website name. Online Water Warfare Community is the most thorough, but rather long to type. OW or OWW just sounds painful. :goofy:

Just depends on members.
