iSoaker.net :: Soaking the world!

I've talked to just about everyone on here, and most of the ppl at SSC and Soaker Media. It's pretty much unanimous, everyone wants a webring of some sort.
I want to run this through with everyone one final time before I go through with it.
I'm going to make a webring at webring.com, titled the Watergun Webring. If you guys don't like the name I'll be open to different options. I'm going to purchase a domain name for the webring once it is constructed, and there will be ONE, and only one page for the webring. The webring page will consist of links to all the sites in the webring, and descriptions of the sites written by the webmasters. The rules for being in the webring will be fine tuned more once I purchase the domain name, but I intend to be pretty loose on rules as long as it's a watergun/waterwarfare website. I'm sure you're all wondering if you're going to need to put a dorky webring code on your website to join. I think that an image link on the main page, and links page, will suffice. You can mess around with the image all you want so that it goes with your website design if you'd like. I don't really care as long as you link to the webring.

I'm going to need someone to help me with graphics and stuff. It will be a two man operation. I have no graphics software, and I want this to look pretty sweet. Any volunteers?

Is that supposed to be an 'and' or could it be an 'or'? While I wouldn't mind having iSoaker.com as part of a webring, I'm not thrilled with the thought of having other additional graphics on the main page here at iSoaker.com. Then again, it depends how the graphic looks, I suppose :goofy:, but I'd rather have it available from the Links page.

I wouldn't mind submitting graphics ideas for a webring banner. Perhaps hold a mini-contest? I'd like to know what the specs on the graphics are (i.e. file size, image dimensions, file format, etc.)

Sorry I didn't clarify. Either an image link on the links page, or a text link or image link on the main page. As for the graphics, Nibordude's going to be helping me with that, but I will think about a contest, I'll consult with him first.

Nibordude does some great graphical work. If he's offered to design up a banner, it'd likely turn out really nicely.

How do you do such cool stuff like that? I've got PhotoShop and I really want to know how you do all this stuff, I just don't know how, I wish I could, then I could be better doing the graphics on SSNation.

Thanks. I didn't use photoshop. I only use Photoshop for Lightning effects or image editing/changing. The image above is done completly from scratch/100% fictional, therfore no photo editing. So you would need to buy CG programs like 3d Studio Max, Maya... . They range from $100-$1500. Alot of cash but worth it. Hours and hours of fun... untill the PC freezes up.

I'm drifting off topic. Anyways, I would like to see a graphics contest/poll anytime soon. Those make the forums always more interesting.

That is pretty sweet Zoccoz. I'm having trouble with webring.com. I put the banner on Hydrowar, because you have to be a member of another webring before you can start your own but it hasn't accepted me into the webring yet. Very annoying. I may look at some other webring to join before I start the Watergun Webring. All in good time. NiborDude has been working on the graphics lately, so I can't wait to see that.
