SSCentral will probably be getting a huge hit spike today as it has been listed on a site I often go to.

See the 'Water Gun' link at BBSpot

Congrats to SSCentral!

Well, SSCentral got deep-linked to RolandTower's Ultimate Water Gun page.

With some luck, it'll help bring around increase online interest in soaking. Too bad the SSCentral forums are still in archive mode.

Oh Lord not this again... why does this always happen at the most inconvenient times!

What's next, Slashdot? Hopefully after the forums are back online.

One thing I don't get is what's so great about RolandTower's homemade... I guess it's the whole "backpack water gun" thing and given that we don't have any other one that's what gets linked.

Here's the spike after Hackaday:

Let's see who makes a bigger spike this time. I'll have to somehow import these bandwidth logs to the new host to keep this graph going though. More work!

BBSpot is a tech humour site. The types of links they usually feature are funky/funny tech things. Roland Tower's homemade is probably one of the longer homemade articles on SSCentral and has a lot of info and good pics which makes it quite appropriate for BBSpot.

As for allowing PNGs, just a moooooment. :goofy:

I just checked the Latest Visitor log in our CPanel and it appears that every single visitor to our site has visited was referred from BBspot and the only page most of them looked at was RolandTower's homemade water gun.

Just goes to prove what I had thought - most of these guys are dead weight on our server. They really don't look at anything else, though I wish they did! Sure could help out the entire community if a lot of people gained interest and visited not only other pages on Super Soaker Central, but other sites as well.

I'll be asking Apis Networks later today about merging visitor and bandwidth logs so we could keep the graphs and see who made a bigger spike! Or maybe I could just wait a few days to switch hosts? :O
