Soaker Sagas - news, etc.

General news, announcements, and other posts from and/or related to other water warfare-related news and websites.

Some of you (e.g. Wetmonkey, Veteran) may remember my site I launched earlier this year: Soaker Sagas. I checked out the stats the other day, and was astonished to find I had had over 2780 visits since the launch in February. June had 956 visits with an average of around 31 a day. I found that pretty incredible considering the current number of sagas on there...I could do with more, but at least it seems to be getting visits!

I did another update just now, and Belisaurius's Saga is now up there to view.

My contribution to online Soakerdom... :soakon2:

Neat, different perspective site!

One of these days, I'll get around to writing up something for the ISS. Just need to be properly inspired before writing. :goofy:

iSoaker, that would be awesome. I'm sure many here would be interested in reading it. With that, I would have the sagas of the two main site webmasters.

In my own news, I've actually been working on writing up a personal saga (finally). It's current on its sixth page (mostly single-spaced), but still more to go. Hopefully I can finish it soon and send it to you.

Gaaah... mine is only five pages. I'll have to make it longer to retain my longest-saga title.

Then again... iSc does have a decade head-start on me... late-twenties versus mid-teens....

That sounds good. I look forward to reading it.

And Cloud, you know you can append to sagas as well? I generally recommend doing so at 6-month intervals, which reminds me that I should get round to doing so on mine myself!

Must even this be a competition? (writes another 10 pages...errr....) :goofy:

@ Spinner: hopefully I'll be happy enough with my writing by Friday to email it to you (finally! I know I'm a slacker at heart :goofy: )

I'd make one if I had the time (sophomore = more homework). Maybe next summer.

Nice! I like the way it looks (very simple + cool = good layout). :p

Write it on the weekends!

ISS is proud to announce the release of the first version of the Saga of yet another water warfare titan...

<span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>iSoaker</span>

Trivia: 88% of Personal Sagas are those of either SSC Senior Members/iScF Key Members or 'above' (e.g. Moderators, etc).

I'm still working on the CFM site, haven't had time to finish my saga. Between typing html script, doing homework, and eating/sleeping, where does one have time to type a saga? I will find time, though, I originally promished Spinner my saga in June. :goofy:

Perhaps I should write up a saga of my own some time...I can't imagine why anyone want to read the story of my last 5 or so years in water fighting, but hey, everyone else is doing it, why shouldn't I?

Why not? I for one would want to read it, and I'm sure there must be others who would as well.

Cheers!

Actually, Soaker Sagas is a really good idea. From what I've seen recently -- and in the past -- many sites are just basically clones of far older sites. However, I have been to some extent guilty of this in the past.

But you, Spinner, have nothing to worry about. Great job!
