When did YOU join Soakerdom? - ^

General news, announcements, and other posts from and/or related to other water warfare-related news and websites.

When did YOU join Soakerdom? I'm not referring to just joining this particular set of forums. I'm asking when you joined any of the existing or formerly existing water warfare sites.

Month and year preferred, though estimates are welcome if you cannot actually recall the month (or even the year :goofy: ) you started interacting with other Soakerdom members online.

If I recall correctly, I found MiB Alliance at the end of 1998/early 1999. I was definitely posting there in 1999, but not sure whether I had joined while it was still 1998. :goofy:

This thread can help identify what 'generation' of Soakerdom membership you belong to (though the generation dates could use a little better defining, too). I still wonder whether to consider myself first or second generation as I joined an already active community as opposed to being one of the first members there.

Lessee here...Oozinator, Soakertag Elite, SoakerTag, MXDPt2, MXD, EES...6 years ago. Yeah, six years ago, right in time to become the first person to discover EES. Probably joined late fall, early winter.

Joined AQT right before it became ClubAquatica with that really cool dark blue background. Joined WW.net after it hit the fan at CAQT. Joined SSC after WW.net went sideways, transitioned over here when it started up.

I've been around a while.

September of 2003 at the first Waterbridge Forum, which actually is still online if anyone wants to see my "quasi-n00bish" early posts. I found SSC in Feb 04 [6 days before Spinner :p ]. I waited until that June to join WWN, and joined iSCF the first day it came online.

Not as long as many, but still a good stretch.

The first active forum I joined was the first WWN. That was sometime in the spring (I want to say April or May because I joined WWN before SSC, and joined SSC in June), of 2003.
Yeah, six years ago, right in time to become the first person to discover EES.

If my memory serves, EES was released in '03.

I joined iSCF after the 2nd WWN went kaput and SM before it became officially active.

In my post, I counted backwards through the model years I've been in the community. Less'n I got them out of order or there were two model years at the same time, I think I'm accurate. I could be wrong though, I have been before.

Edit:Ok, you're right, EES was 2003. But I was here before that. Specifically, I asked for repair advice on a 2500 back in, I think, 2001 or 2002. Zow-ee! I am newer than I thought. Four or five max instead of six. Weird.

I'm a little surprised that there aren't more from back when Aquatica was still running. Then again, Aquatica had a particularly nasty end-stage and that was far from a pleasant time in Soakerdom. Oh well.. mistakes made that will hopefully not be repeated, at least not here. :goofy:

WWn was 'the happy place with a lousy server'. Its demise was just re-confirmation that there's no such thing as a free lunch.

This place does alright and serves its purpose. I'm also glad both SSC and SM (as well as a few other smaller forums) also co-exst online. While I miss having one primary board where the majority interact on, the varied flavours of boards allows a lot more things to be discussed overall since the different boards cater better to different sets of members.

I know I joined in 1998, but hell if I can remember what month it was. Late spring maybe?
It's been a looooong time, that's all I know. Thanks for rubbing it in Bob. ;)

About a month or 2 ago I also found iSoaker and SSC through google, I think I was searching for CPS guns (which I knew nothing about at the time), I just started getting a bit interested in water guns and was hoping to get a decent one for some fights, but I started a few years too late. Fortunately my neighboor still has a 2000 and a 2500 that I borrow for the fights. I remember I would spend long hours on this site looking up different soakers, comparing stats, deciding what to get, etc.

I joined Soakerdom, as in interest in water-based warfare when the Soakertag series came out. I then went online to find out more about soakers, and I discovered the awesome power of the classic water guns. I used to think that the Helix was the most awesome gun ever, until I fired a CPS 1200.

the first forums I joined were Isoaker's, and this in summer of last year. I've lost that account, the name overload09, and have come back as H2orpheus_07, in March of this year.

i joined "soakerdom" when I was about 6 years old. i was inspired by my older brother and all the cool water guns he had such as the cps2000 and the monster xl. my first real water gun came when i was 6 and my uncle got me a super soaker max-D 6000 when he visited from Florida. I still have this gun as well as many others and also some of my brothers old super soakers such as teh cps2000 and and the super soaker bow and arrow. These days I collect many Water Warriors as well as super soakers. Water Guns are a lot of fun, and i hope to be using them... FOREVER!!!

Umm, Spring 1999. Started posting on the MiB Yahoo club whilst building my old Soaker site 'Super Soaker Classics'. Then I joined the old Super Soaker webring (or whatever it was called then) and my old site devolved into some 'X' rated page...err...

I used to post as 'SuperSoakerWarrior' back then.

Unless you mean when I got my first soaker... that would have been Spring 1993, my first was a Classic SS 30. Then an MDS, which I still have.

Holy cow, it's MaxStar! Glad to see you're still lurking around!

Man, it's been four year since I posted here, and I've passed the decade mark of hanging out in this community (inactive though I may be). How the times have changed.
