Re: Super Soaker Max-Infusion: Defender

Possibly one of the best Super Soakers released since 2002. While it may be beat by the Flash Flood (and HydroBlitz?) in terms of power, I really admired how this gun combined elements of tried-and-true separate chamber air pressure technology with a solid design and excellent aesthetics/ergonomics....

Re: New Homemade

Hmm, the picture seems to work for me; I used the same link both here and at SSC. In the past, I've used stock pumps to power my homemades, but I really wanted to make a good homemade pump for this project. One solution that seemed to work pretty well was a modified wine-cork attached to a wooden d...

New Homemade

Hey everybody! Recently I decided to brush the dust off of that part of my brain that is dedicated to all things homemade (probably due to a subconscious response to the fantastic summer weather here). My goal was to design and build an APH that was smaller, and more practical than earlier designs, ...

Re: Critics' Corner

I've only had a chance to briefly look over the Super Soaker releases for 2010; it seems like a majority are pump action which is a little disappointing.

End-of-Season Review

Today I emptied all of my water guns. This is always a bittersweet moment, the yearly ritual the marks the end of soaker season and the start of a few long, cold, and dark months. In my area, the bravest will venture out around later march or early April. As soon as the snow melts and the buds begin...

Re: Super Soaker and Water Warriors Evolution Trees

Hey, I'm not sure if anyone noticed, but this soaker history map (and iSoaker) have been featured in an article on Gizmodo. At the time of this post, it's received over 40 comments. Gizmodo is a pretty high traffic site, so it'll be interesting to see how that affects our visitors here. Here's the ...

Well this certainly looks intriguing, but I can't help reiterating some of the concerns voiced by other members. First off that handle...At least it would be relatively easy to modify. And second, the pump volume seems pretty small, but again, easy to modify. I'd say this gun would be an attractive...

What soakers are you looking for? I'm looking to downsize my collection a bit, and would love to get my hands on a 1500 again. One a side note, I'm interested in this Blorca. Not from a trader's standpoint, but rather from a fellow modders, how did you go about doing this? And is it as ugly as th...

Very impressive! I wouldn't worry about the brass too much, apart from cost it should give you similiar performance to PVC. And I really like the k-mod. Lighter, more subtle k-mods are really proving themselves to be a better alternative to monster k-mods with CVFs. If/when you post an updated or...

This is a preliminary sketch of the design I'm going for. It's going to be a little different from contemporary design but similar in some respects to recent over/under blasters such as the Secret Strike and the Liquidator. One thing to note about this design is that, at this point, I have not de...

Hello everybody. It's been awhile since I've started a thread here... Anyway this is for the concept soaker I will hopefully be submitting to the Aqua Flash soaker design competition. If I don't get around to it, I'd still like to use this thread to explore some ideas for a new manufactured CPS so...

This seems like a very interesting contest, I'll be entering it for sure. I do have one question, are we allowed to use this thread as sort of an exhibit for WIP concepts? I know we'd be hazarding the sharing of design aspects but even if no one else uses it I'd like to post some WIP sketches alo...

I've never found the term Soakerdom to be archaic in any sense. I've grown quite fond of it over the years, in fact.

Just my opinion.

Sounds promising, I look forward to hearing more as construction continues. It sounds like you've taken a n idea that's been thrown around for awhile, and made it feasible. Human propulsion really is the best method in a vehicle such. In addition your approach to "eliminating" the tank makes sense,...

Wow, neat video! It's always neat to see blasters in action (especially ones I've never used :goofy: ). The performance looks decent, but really not as impressive over the Flash Flood given the size of the blaster. The pulse fire feature is very cool though, and I have to say that I wouldn't want ...

I'm about 3/4 of the way through the final review right now. I did some more testing today (which escalated into a sort of mini-soak fest with my brother). I still don't have official ranges, but I was able to get shot times for all 3 nozzles: Smallest-22 seconds Medium-13 seconds Largest-4 secon...
