* = Estimated. Due to this gun having a valve in the pump that prevents overcharging, an accurate measure was impossible. However, it was estimated that 25 pumps were required to achieve a full charge due to the Pump getting difficult to pump at that number when pumped quickly..

Performance Overview
The Gun handled quite well under performance conditions, on occasion firing a stream a little more sputtery than the rest of the time, but with no effect to the range. Speaking of Range, the Gun delivered a Solid stream a good distance away. In a side-by-side test with its predecessor, the CPS 1500, it fired just as far as as the other. The pumps could have stood to been a little better, and suffered some considerable leakage from the Pump when pumping (Easily Repairable), but at least the annoying "ka-chuk ka-chuk" that happens under rapid pumpings on the 1500 is less pronounced...

Structural Overview
Has a good feel to it. With good size and weight, it can be used easily with the strap on or off.. (If you're a smaller person I'd recommend using the Strap to carry it) Like the 1500, the pump knocks while pumping, but it is clearly not as pronounced. And Alike its 1500 Predecessor, the Nozzle Selector Switch can be easily moved and the nozzle it is on can be determined effortlessly. Could have used a Pressure Gauge however. Overall, the Gun felt a little more Solid in use than its shaky predecessor.

Basic Overview
The CPS 1700, from what I can tell, is Almost Completely Identical to its Predecessor, the CPS 1500... With Shot Times and Shots per full tank identical to the 1500's, I see no big change between the two. You could call it 1500 Mk.5...
I personally don't see any advantage of the 1700 over the 1500 due to the likeness... This doesn't mean I don't approve of it, I actually like it very much - It Means 1500 will be around for a little while longer - 1500 was a great gun to begin with, 1700 should prove just as good.

If you're not a collector, but you love the 1500 and wonder if the 1700 is any better, don't bother with it... Wait for your 1500 to break before springing the cash for it. If you are a Collector, it looks nice on a shelf as well as in your arms - soaking your enemys for you..
