Aquatica welcomes it's 15th Site into the webring, www.WaterBattles.com. Worth a look.
On the Aqua-Nexus front,
I've been, well, rather slowly milling away on the next major update. After
doing some work on the new site, it doesn't appear that it will be a big
update at all, but don't let go of your seat yet, it's still early. I believe
that Nexus v2.9 will be impressive.
The New Update will include:
The addition of the 2001
Series to the SS Review Section.
A New style of Midi Jukebox
for the music lovers.
The return of the Intros
everybody likes...
And More Suprises... ;)
Also, a new concept has risen
to totally rebuild the Nexus from Scratch, everything, site-wide. However,
this will take months. With any luck, she'll be out by June - if I start
now... (This site isn't exactly small, she'll be 2 years old in April,
hehe.).
Project Nexus-3 will dazzle
the very minds of Soaker Fans. Who knows what will become of it, because
the posibilitys are endless...
Anyway, I'm outta here...
-=Take NO Prisoners!!=-
Quietly, just a week into the new year, the future of Soaking has come upon us, and we are greeted, by going to the new SuperSoaker.com, by the new faces which will appear on the battlefield. As well as the parting of some old friends that I am sad to see go.
And now, it is time for the
Newswire's
2001 Super Soaker NewsCast!
First we should start with a general overview of the soakers from the last few years. Traditionally there has been 3 Lines since 1999. The XPs, The CPSs, and the SuperChargers. In 2000, those lineups were joined by the Monsters. The Monsters, while Technically SuperChargers, are CPS sized and much more powerful, and deserved a class of their own.
Well, this year we see some changes. While the SuperCharger Lineup still lives on in the Monster Series, the SuperCharger line itself has been dissolved. Note, there is no longer an official SuperCharger Line. All 2001 SuperCharging weapons are parts of the other Classes, the XPs, CPSs, and Monsters. All 2000 series SuperChargers have been discontinued. (Although SC400 has appeared in some places from what I hear)
XPs
As for the XPs, The 2000
lineup returns in full force along with the Novelty XP, the XP Backfire.
XP Backfire features
two triggers and a nozzle at each end, for effective soaking to opponents
in front and behind you. Whether or not this will be useful will be an
answer to be found later this year.
Also new, the XP Triple
Play is the Younger brother to the SC Triple Charge, with a smaller
gun and cooler looks, it comes with 3 SuperCharging Tanks, a stand and
Belt, as well as one cool looking gun. It is also the first SuperCharging
weapon in the Official XP lineup.
Also new, as we say goodbye
to the longest running XP Series, the XP 15, we say hello to the cute little
XP215,
boasting a 25% capacity increase over it's predecessor.

CPSs
What most of you have been
waiting for! The Big boys of the 2000 and 2001 have gotten a makeover.
The Goofy 2000 series colour scheme is no more, I repeat, no more crazy
colours.
The Standard issue guns
are pack with two more additions... As well as one of the most famous designs
disappearing forever. CPS1200 retraces its CPS1000 roots as it reverts
to a Silver/Blue design, making this already cool gun far cooler. CPS2700
also parts from it's Flowery colour scheme, being the First Silver/Yellow
CPS. CPS3200 stays the same in it's Golden Yellow Splendor. So who's
missing... What? No.. It's can't be!! CPS1700 will not
be returning in 2001. My Favorite Gun design, and loved by many of seasoned
warrior, bids us farewell... However, taking it's Medium CPS class
place is a New CPS concept. Perhaps the first real Novelty CPS, the CPS
1-3-5 Blaster allows for the use of 1, 3, or 5 Nozzles firing at once.
For those who want the wide spread coverage of the MonsterXL but none of
the Money, this gun could prove to be a good gun, if it has the power to
push it's 5 nozzles to the limit. Also new is what many could call the
"Portable PowerPak", as the CPS SplashZooka 65oz makes it's stand.
Armed with 65oz of Pressurized Jungle Juice, this Number can only be charged
at a SuperCharger stand, but it carrys just under the amount the Big Trouble
does!

So who's left? Oh right,
who could forget...
Monsters!!
The Monster Series, while
the designs are the same for the older ones, gets a Name Rearrangement
to make room for the NEW MONSTER!!
While the Existing Green
Monster gets renamed to "Monster X", the New Monster could be looked
at the Baby Brother to the Grand Monster XL. The New gun, the Monster,
is a CPS2700 sized edition of the Monster X and Monster XL, Featuring what
looks to be 4 Nozzles and good sized Cylindrical Pressure tank. This 86oz
Beast looks like a contender for anybody's soaker wishlist.

So, this is what the Gods at Larami hath handed us down from the top of Mount Hasbro, the tools for our own dryness destruction.
Also new is the SuperSoaker.com website... SuperSoaker 2001 has once again changed to make room for the new blasters. This update is the first of a few, as in February, the Media Section and the reservior should be online. The Production Co-ordinator and Main Designer of SuperSoaker.com were on hand at the Aquatica Yahoo Club Chat Room to tell the members of the Club personally that the new site has been activated, and they've done a fine job. Kudos to the production team at SuperSoaker.com for a job well done...
And here's to a GREAT 2001!!
And thus ends our newscast...
remember, you heard it FIRST on...
