It's the last day of August. And this time next week, as we all pile into school buses or carpools on the way to college or university, we'll all realize that this is the end of the season, end of summer...
As a result, AquaNexus will not be updated as much after this, as the Nexus will be shutting down for major upgrading, like MiB and Aquatechnology... But as I said when I started the Newswire, I would maintain updates to it at least weekly. This fall, with less traffic and less site updates and less informative news rolling around, I cannot promise that updates will still be weekly, but I'll try my best for BiWeekly or monthly.
In a little while better photos and better overviews for guns will be presented.
The Major update will be completed sometime between this fall and next spring...
Its been a great summer.
Thanks to all of you who care!

And Remember...
Peace, Love and Water War!

A Detailed Benchmark of a Classic 200 has been done and posted. You can find it on the 200's review page or by going here. Also, Some new photos have been taken (but not developed or scanned yet) for this site... Including the long awaited Picture of an XP95. Also featuring a CPS 2500, CPS 1000 and a SC400. Each of the new photos have been taken beside a Canadian 5$ bill for size comparison.
Also to be brought to the Nexus is a Demo's Section. Photos have been taken of a CPS 2500 Knocking over a 2L Pop Bottle, an XP95 shooting it's riot blast, and CPS 1000 shooting at my self built Water Shield. I will let you know if these pictures turn out...

Today I have some new news that may come as a shock to you. There isn't much information as of yet, but it appears there is a rumor circulating about Larami canceling the current CPS line. Along with this rumor comes news that they will possibly replace them with guns labeled 3500, 4000, and 4500.
This information is highly unofficial, and please regard it as just a rumor. It is my speculation that these new guns, with higher numbers than the original CPSs, will likely be huge Super Chargers. I personally hope not, because the idea of the SuperChargers, with their bad reputation, taking over from the much loved CPSs quite frankly doesn't sit well with me. And I've also shouted out on the MiB Yahoo chat board that if the CPS replacements are not of equal power among the CPSs, then I will not be around much next year... But we will just have to wait and see, to see if this rumor is true or not, and if these replacements are any good.
However if there's anything I can say to Larami about SuperChargers replacing CPSs is "Give them the Reservoir Size of the CPSs". They need it. SuperChargers only get 2-3 shots per fill. CPSs, 4 and up.
Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong...

Also this day Marks the 5th anniversary of the 1994 C-WSL Water Cup championship battle between the Super Soaker Warriors and the Water Bombers. The Super Soaker Warriors won it that time. It was also the last battle of the CWSL until this year...

I know no one wants to think of it, not even me, but its nearing Back to school time. But this doesn't neccesarily mean you have to put your guns away. Toss an XP40, 20 or 15, or an NI30 in your bookbag. Shoot anyone who makes fun of you, or maybe a friend who's asking for it...  Don't shoot them in class if you don't want them taken away. Have fun.

A large update over at Aquatechnology, Go there and see for yourself.

The AquaNexus Redesignment project is still underway. It is still not near completion, but I'm hoping that it might be done by mid fall. (even though that may be a little exaggerative...).

I know no one wants to think about it, but the truth remains that the Summer is drawing to a close. It'll still be warm in some places even into fall, but in Canada, we'll be lucky to make it into the first few weeks of September...
As such, it is time that we start thinking of alternatives to Super Soakers that can be done in the winter time. Paint Ball has always been a favorite of many, and still I haven't tried it myself, but it isn't quite as cost effective as SSs are. (As I've heard, it is quite a hefty price for a single battle, but the battles are worth it.) So naturally, there should be alternatives, that are much cheaper, and as Cost effective as Super Soakers. There are two I can name. (If there's more, please email me). There is Nerf, and the Almighty Lazer Tag/Laser Challenge. Some Nerf guns are actually made by Larami (SuperMaxx Series). I recommend Lazer Tag, not because it's of higher technology, but because I've been playing it for years longer than I've been dealing with Super Soakers.
So When this season is done, don't stop fighting, just pick up a different gun. A Paintball gun, a Nerf gun, or a Lazer Tag gun. And remember, Shoot to kill.

In the news, A few days ago Aquatechnology added a Shockwave Flash Splash screen on it's main page, really nice. Go and see it.
Also, with the season coming to a close, other sites are working on new layouts and such for the next year... I won't give very many details, but there is an AquaNexus redesignment project underway... I am not planning to change to the new layout until after the season is over, but the work is speeding along quite quickly, and may be done sooner than I figured.

Thanks for watching!.

The smouldering days of summer are dying down, so get out soaking today...

In the news today is more on the New MiB Alliance Homepage. After the scary thought (well to some) of a Pokemon theme to it next year, MiB Alliance Leader Paul Quinnell has announced that the new Name will simply be just "MiB" No "Alliance", No "Homepage", just "MiB". This is good because it will be new, yet the same MiB site everyone's grown to love. These reports come from the MiB Alliance Yahoo Club, Go there and join today...

Also, MiB has put up badges for Its club members to put up on their websites (one is present on the Nexus main page).
Here it is, pictured below.
(Image Deleted to Save Space - 7/10/2000)
This rather fancy logo has been spiced up buy the NeXuS's own Super Soaker Warrior, turned into an Animated Image with Firing 2000s and pumps that move. Pictured Below is the small (132k) version. To see the Larger (232k) edition Close-up, click on the Animated Badge.

HTML fragments for the pictures can be found by going to a page located at the MiB site here...

Also, the Background music on Flash Flood has changed.

And for those concerned, the AquaNexus will be undergoing a Site Layout update for next season. No details yet, but the Nexus will be keeping it's name.

And thats the News.

Tis the ides of August, not much left of summer, so make it worth while...

In the news are several updates from around the webring. Aquatechnology has updated the layout of its Armory Section, and has added a tactical review of a water hose. A useful tool in the waterfighting circuit (but in my area is only used for self defence while refilling).
The Brynet-Hydroland has also updated its Layout. Prehaps soon it will include an Infromation update, or even a decent links page.
An MiB Alliance Copy Cat Club on Yahoo has officially been disbanded by request of MiB Alliance Leader Paul Quinnell. The Copy Cat groups Webpage is yet to be taken down. See the Copy Cat page here (Note: it may not still be there) (Also note that The Copy Cat's main page used to be a complete rip of the Official MiB Alliance page.)

And thats The News...

Looks like SS.Com heard me, The New Reservor issue is here. This month's pick is the Smaller two CPSs, The Small and Agile CPS 1000, and the Big yet quite small and manuverable CPS 1500. Each one Shows Different results than found here at the Nexus. Each gun benchmarked here has been measured and double checked with extreme caution, so rest assured, the Nexus Benchmark findings are Correct.

Also I would like to Thank everyone who came out in full support of the Nexus after Last Saturdays Thrashing of the Nexus by Water War's webmaster Tactician. If you missed it, you can see it on the 8/8/99 entry of the NewsWire, or Read the Email here.

8/11/99
Well SS.Com, it's The 11th of August... Wheres this new Reservior Review?
Thats right, the Reservior is a day late of August 10th, and they even announced it in the Splashzone. They've taken 11 days so far to do what they do, and it doesn't take that long to do that...

In other news, the Webmaster of the MiB Alliance Super Soaker Page has announced in the MiB Yahoo Club that the MiB Page will be largely closed down at the end of this month. This comes to us as he will be creating a new Super Soaker website at a new Location to be named for "something now related to MiB Alliance". At the end of the month, all that will remain is, and I Quote, "I'll leave a cover page up which will basically tell everyone that I'm updating and I'll leave my links page up so you all can still find Super Soaker sites online."(Paul Quinnell, MiB). He also stated that the new site will be up Between January and March of 2000. More Information on this when more comes out.

Also, Aquatechnology has posted the pressure tank sizes of the XP 90 and more importantly, the Star Wars Droid Rifle. It isn't much, and I don't think it's really worth it to buy the gun. See for yourself.

And once again, ends todays report. See it all first on the NeXuS NewsWire.

Added a new Voting Poll Question, see it on the "Vote" tab, or go here.

More site updates, too many to list, corrections done in response to a rather irate email review from the webmaster of Water War. If you were around for the Demise of the Soaked Newsletter In July of 1998, then you know what happened to it... Since then, the remaining ashes of the Soaked Website have become a Shrine crying out for the downfall of Water War's Webmaster, Tactician. I would like to inform you that the AquaNexus has been battered by the same nitpicking reviewer that helped murder the Great Soaked Newsletter, seting back Super Soaker Information Progress by at least a year. Well for your information, this will not Kill the Nexus, trial by fire makes for one damned good survivor.
Just to note, it says on Tacticians site that nothing he says should be taken personally, If thats the way you think then its best not to say anything at all. Its also best to learn as much as you can about the situation before making a judgement....
I would ask you to go visit the Soaked Website and see for yourself. Read the full email, and especially the Comment board, a board which has brought out even the great Ian Helfrich of the SS.Com Reservior Fame.

Also a full listing of the E-Mail I received is posted here. Read The Email

A few days ago the MiB Alliance Homepage updated for the first time this summer. All thats there is a reason why it hasn't been updated this summer. See for yourself. Also, on Tuesday August 10th the Reservior on Super Soaker.Com is to be updated. A Review of the CPS 1000 and 1500 is to be posted. (Two guns that have already been benchmarked here on the AquaNexus.) It'll be interesting to see how they try to compare them to the Superchargers and Larger CPSs.

8/3/99
Today I would like to announce a major update to the AquaNexus. Several things have been updated, changed and added. A list is below...

-=-Due to an Incorrect formula to determine Ounces from Milliliters, the capacitys and water volumes of the CPSs and the Detailed Benchmarks had to be updated. (I was using 30.725mL/oz, it's supposed to be 29.5mL/oz).
-=-The Menu selection Bar has been made narrower to increase the size of the main window. A Site Map has been added for ease of navigation (I realized that before it was rather hard to find where things were.)
-=-a List of all Benchmark Reviewed guns can be found on the Overall Tab of the SS Review and Statistics section. (at the very bottom of the page)
And
-=-A Review and Detailed Benchmark of the Super Charger 400 has been added. It can be found on the SC400 review page or just Go Here...

Also last night a battle occured between all CWSLers in the Premier division. It started when an Ambush attack occured on Doogie (Now Goliath) engineered by SSW an TKD-Warrior, was answered by Blackwolf. More on this when I post a War Story on it.

8/1/99
Welcome to August, If you haven't been out soaking.... You should be ashamed about yourself... So try to fit in as much as you can in the next few weeks, the final weeks of summer.
After this month, the Nexus (like many of us) will be shutting down for the winter. Only important news updates and war stories will be posted during the cold months. The next year will bring a new look, and a grand re-opening of the AquaNexus.
But until then its still the AquaNexus everyone knows and loves.
